🍅🫘 ORGANIC IS FOR GROWERS 🫘🍅

Here at High Mowing, we have a lot to say about the importance of organic agriculture and its role in addressing some of the most complex and urgent issues of our time—from building food security to fighting climate change and improving health outcomes.

Because organic agriculture begins with organic seeds, we’ve spent 30 years building a catalog of 750+ certified organic seed varieties for the ever-expanding community of growers across North America. 👩🏽‍🌾🥕

Whether you’re a home gardener or a commercial farmer, growing organically offers a host of benefits, including:

🌱 Access to fresh, chemical-free produce
🌿 Pesticide-free spaces that are safe for families, workers, pets & wildlife
🍀 Improved well-being due to physical activity and time spent outdoors
🌾 A sense of purpose and a deeper connection to nature and foodways
🪴 Increased resilience in an era of climatic and economic uncertainties
💚 A tangible investment in the future of your family and community

We're so proud to partner with you in this mission. 🫘🍅

When asked what is my favorite vegetable to grow, the answer will vary by the season. Right now the answer is corn! I love the drama that corn brings to the garden. It grows fast and influences the vibe of the garden strongly. Late season as the plants begin to dry, the sounds of the leaves rustling in the breeze hypnotize me. Grow some corn!

I grow potatoes in fabric pots and it’s time to plant! Find certified seed potatoes at your local nursery and get growing.

Interplanting, or intercropping, is a method for growing a variety of crops that enhances biodiversity, minimizes weeds, and supports healthy soil, which can reduce pests and disease in proper combinations. In this livestream I’ll discuss examples from my Austin, Texas garden where I’ve been growing organic fruits and vegetables since 2006. Tune in live or watch the replay and let me know what you’re looking forward to growing this spring.
