Megan’s Crafty Corner

Megan’s Crafty Corner I am just a mom who found a love for fabric and sewing at a young age from my Nana that has stuck with me through the years.

Now I enjoy making quilts and other various things for my nieces.

I have made this quilt for my beautiful Aunt Laura Whitton Kelly. This woman has been there for many of the ups and downs in my life and held my hand through them. Never telling me what to do but guiding me in the right direction. She has told me when something was dumb but always letting me make those choices on my own.

Thank you Aunt Laura for always being there when I needed you or just to be a shoulder to lean on when I needed a rest. Know you are loved my many nieces and nephews but never more than your first.

I donated this beautiful quilt to 100X Dancehall to raise money for the buyer’s group to help raise money for the youth auction. The winning bid went to this lovely couple and I couldn’t believe the price they were paying for it. I was absolutely floored and almost cried because of it. They said that his mother used to quilt when she was alive and he understood the time and effort that goes into making these time consuming projects. I feel absolutely blessed by the doors that are opening for me with because of my quilts. As someone who struggles with perfectionism and self criticism of my own product it feels amazing to have my work looked at with awe. I can’t wait for next year because I have so many ideas for what to create.

Creating the 'Puppy Love' quilt for the Del Toro's has been an absolute pleasure, and I'm so proud of how it's turned out. I made sure to capture the likeness of their adorable pets in the two center pups. I hope this quilt becomes a cherished treasure for baby Peyton, providing warmth and comfort for years to come.

I was deeply moved to create this quilt for my aunt Sheila’s youngest son Chance’s birthday, a tribute to his perseverance and dedication. The assortment of shirts, chronicling his advancement from Little League to high school, embodies the spirit of his endeavors. Chance, may this quilt envelop you in the warmth of your memories, and may it encourage you to continue pushing beyond your boundaries. I eagerly await seeing the extraordinary impact you’ll make in the years to come. May your birthday have been an unforgettable experience, and may this quilt bring you boundless joy and comfort.

I find making T-shirt quilts truly fulfilling. Every one tells a unique story and holds countless memories sewed into the fabric. I must say they are by far my most rewarding projects to undertake.

I can’t post the latest on until it is gifted but here is a sample of how I lay my T-shirt quilts out. There are 112 pieces in this quilt alone and they are all from T-shirts.
