This month, we uplift, celebrate, and stand with our transgender and nonbinary community members...onstage, backstage, and beyond.

Trans voices have always shaped theatre and art: rewriting stories, challenging norms, and showing the world what authenticity and courage look like.

Visibility is powerful, but so is safety, joy, and belonging. So, this month (and always), 14/48 Austin (and ) commits to creating a stage where trans artists are not just represented, but respected, protected, and celebrated. 🌈🎭

To our trans and nonbinary friends, collaborators, and audience members: You make the world richer. You make the art braver. You are loved, seen, and essential.

Today, we honor the educators—the ones shaping futures, inspiring creativity, and showing up for our kids even when the system doesn’t show up for them.

Teachers aren’t paid enough. They aren’t protected enough. And too often, they’re being silenced when they fight to make classrooms safe, inclusive, and affirming for every student.

Let’s be clear:
🏳️‍🌈 LGBTQ+ inclusion is not “political.”
📚 Teaching real history is not “radical.”
🎭 Creating spaces where every child feels seen, valued, and safe is not “controversial.”

At 14/48 Austin, we stand with teachers who choose courage over compliance, empathy over fear, and truth over comfort. You are shaping not just lessons—but lives.

🥗🌎 Today is the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste 🌎🥗

In theatre, we know how much work goes into every detail—props, costumes, scripts, and sets. The same is true for food: every meal represents labor, love, and resources from farm to table.

Yet, a third of all food produced worldwide is lost or wasted. That’s not just meals gone uneaten—it’s wasted energy, water, and human effort.

At 14/48 Austin, we believe in community care. Reducing waste is one way we can nurture both our neighbors and our planet.

Here’s how you can make a difference:
🍎 Support local food banks and community fridges.
🥦 Cook creatively with leftovers.
🥖 Share meals with friends, neighbors, and community.
