It is with heavy hearts that we have to share this news with you: Phyllis Slattery, executive director of Dance Umbrella, passed away last night unexpectedly after a brief illness. Details about a memorial/gathering in Austin to come soon; we'll announce it here as well as working to get the word out through the usual channels.

OK, trying the blog thang again. I still can't figure out this FB stuff. I want Dance Umbrella/Austin to just stand alone, it seems folks can do more on this page than me. Everything I want here shows up on my personal page, and I am pretty sure you all aren't interested in my aunts, family outings, and inside jokes. anyone who can help me out of this quagmire, please msg me!

I just want to tell you how excited I am that I figured out how to change the damn blog page. And I want to invite you to join it! After spending 12 hours learning how to edit video clips, I'm kind of sick of all this techno- a-bo-bo. What a time sucker, and to think people pretty much live their lives on here. Did you even know it was 99 degrees in Austin today, and raining like cats and dogs on the east coast?
