Two days of leadership, collaboration, creativity, and connection! Our social officers spent time learning from one another, planning for the year ahead, building relationships, and developing the skills needed to lead their teams and campuses.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this camp a success. We can’t wait to see all the amazing things these student leaders accomplish this year!

Today, the artists built.

Then they destroyed.

And that was the point.

Day 3 challenged artists to let go of perfection and embrace the creative process. Students spent hours constructing sculptures, installations, and structures only to deconstruct, dismantle, cut apart, and transform them into something new.

The lesson? Art isn't always about the final product. Sometimes the most important part is experimenting, taking risks, making mistakes, and discovering ideas you never would have found if you played it safe.

Watching students willingly tear apart something they worked hard to create was both painful and inspiring. Creative growth happens when we're brave enough to let go, rethink, and start again.

Today wasn't about what survived.

It was about what was learned.

AISD Visual Arts Presents: THE DROP – Summer Art Studio Series (Limited Spots!)

Looking for something bold, creative, and different this summer?
THE DROP is a 4-day, high-energy studio experience for students ready to experiment, take risks, and push their creativity.

This is not your typical art camp. Each day features a new “drop” with unexpected prompts, materials, and challenges. Students will create, remix, and share their work in a space that celebrates originality, play, and big ideas.

We are thrilled to announce the remainder of our Summer Theatre Series season, featuring Rising Stars, our Black Box production of The Witch’s Princess by Don Zoladis, and our full-scale summer musical, Disney’s Frozen!

This exciting lineup offers something for everyone—from large-cast musical theatre to an intimate Black Box experience, plus opportunities for our Rising Stars performers to grow and shine on stage. Frozen will bring the magic of Arendelle to life with unforgettable music, dynamic characters, and plenty of opportunities for students to be involved both onstage and behind the scenes.

Auditions are now open from February 1 through March 14, and we encourage all interested students to apply. Our Summer Theatre Series is designed to challenge, inspire, and showcase the incredible talent of young artists from across the district.
