Emily is a mother, wife, sister, learner, teacher, director, actor, friend, Girl Scout leader, Louisiana native, volunteer, and entrepreneur. She loves life, her kids, her husband, her brother, her friends, and her experiences with ACTion Theatricals! She wants to help children to take initiative, promote their own creativity, and feel successful. Emily began her performance path in middle school
working with Holiday Productions, private lessons, and school competitions in Lafayette, Louisiana. She was accepted into the High School Theatre Arts, Arts Academy program allowing her to continue her training. During this time she competed with her school’s Speech and Debate team. Emily went on to the University of Louisiana(UL) to receive her B.F.A. in Performing Arts with an English minor. Performing in various academic plays and community theatre. She received the Irene Ryan Partner award for her work at UL as Echo in Lee Blessing's, Eleemosynary. Post college she moved to Austin performing in various professional productions with Earth and Sky Acting Co. After a theatrical hiatus due to ill parents and babies being born she began volunteer teaching for the YMCA (Acting, Stage Makeup, Play Writing, Improvisation etc…) which propelled the creation of her next baby, ACTion Theatricals! She has taught Girl Scout workshops using Theatre to tackle concepts like Stereotypes. As a guest artist taught school Improv classes introducing them to the theatre arts! As not only an actor but as a writer, and a visual artist she enjoys teaching camps and classes not only focused on the craft of acting but all the various stagecraft aspects of the theatre resulting in the opportunity of having her students organically getting to create many of their own shows. However, as a technical acting coach her students will learn and put into practice theatre ethics and practices while exploring the artistry of all the various nuances of creating a character. It is the many creative facets of the theatre arts that keeps Emily creatively invigorated and she loves sharing that with her students. Emily’s altruistic life goal, as many will not go on to work professionally in the theatre, is to have her students take little wins from each of her classes to put in their back pockets for all the second guessing of themselves they may feel through their young adult, and adult journeys. She wants to make the world a better place by using the performing arts as the muse to promote confidence, bravery, teamwork, creative acceptance, and encouragement. When students feel the success of ownership of their work they feel the confidence that comes along.
