This weekend marked Lux Mambo’s first-ever performance in New York City, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

Thank you Empire Sensual Movement NYC | Salsa & Bachata Congress for the opportunity and for an incredible weekend.

Huge thanks to Carlos Jiménez and Lucinda for representing Austin on stage with us, Annie Petterson for making the trip even though circumstances kept her off the stage, and our alumni Susy and Camille Avila for coming out to cheer us on. It always means a little more when you’re dancing for friends.

One of the best parts of traveling to congresses isn’t just performing—it’s learning. We came home inspired after a weekend of incredible social dancing, workshops, and watching some of the world’s best artists do what they do.

Already excited for the next one. ❤️

Our Quarterly Salsa On2 Transition Intensive is back.

This 2-hour deep dive by Lux Arts Collective | ATX brings rhythm and movement together through focused drills, isolated music tracks, and live percussion demos. We’ll break down what actually makes On2 feel musical — then translate what you already know from On1 into shines and partnerwork so it clicks.
