Just a couple days left to vote for “Best Burlesque TROUPE” in the ! And we’ve been in reflection mode… While saying one group is “the best” over others is just a matter of opinion, this poll has given us reason to pause and look back over the past year. It turns out, there’s a LOT we’re proud of and SO thankful for! Continuing our list:

🌟 Amplified live music in Austin with our live band show feat.

🌟 Entertained 1000+ people at our self-produced Austin shows, and more over our Texas touring appearances in Buda, McAllen, Kerrville, Luck, and Belton.

🌟 Paid out over $23K ($23,000!!!) in wages to performing artists and musicians!

The “Best Burlesque TROUPE” category is back in the Readers Poll— and we’re in reflection mode… While saying one group is “the best” over others is just a matter of opinion, this poll has given us reason to pause and look back over the past year. It turns out, there’s a LOT we’re proud of and thankful for! Continuing our list:

🌟 Staged a full length narrative burlesque play with 2 sets of amazing guest performers, for a 2-night run (”Agents of TEASE”)

🌟 4 troupe members taught workshops on various aspects of performing arts/burlesque, with one member being instrumental in reviving the Austin Academy of Burlesque, and one member accepted to teach at BurlyCon this year!

Pop a pastie to our own and all the awesome acts taking the stage tonight at the ! We are so proud of her and her incredible creation, “Anatomical Venus.” Blue is affectionately called our “concept queen,” and this act delivers!

She says: “It’s show day! I haven’t applied to a festival in many years. Like…not since 2017. But I’ve been feeling really strong about my Anatomical Venus act. It’s one of my most favorite things I’ve ever created. I feel so motivated to work on it and make it the best it can be. And so I really wanted to show it off to some big audiences. I’m excited to show the Texas Burlesque Festival audience all the work I’ve done on it. If you’ve seen it before, I think you’ll be surprised just how far I’ve taken this costume into sparkle-ville. See you tonight at the Rollins Theater!”

The return of the “Best Burlesque Troupe” category in the Readers Poll has got us in reflection mode… While declaring one performing arts group “the best” over others is a matter of opinion, this poll has given us reason to pause and look back on some wins over the past year. It turns out, there’s a lot to be proud of and thankful for! High on our list are:

- Showcased touring neo-legends and icons in our shows: Donna Denise, Buck Wylde, Miss AuroraBoobRealis, Tito Bonito, Raven Rose, and upcoming: Frankie Fictitious!
- Helped amplify drag in Austin, with a show to celebrate one of our members, Alexander The Great, making history on the first ever drag king reality TV show.
- We were able to make donations of over $200 to Society of Native Nations, an Indigenous Rights Advocacy group, from a percentage of our ticket sales; and looking forward to contributing more!
