Peter The Adequate Peter Hinrichs, AKA Peter the Adequate. An Austin magician who has amused and amazed audiences across the North American continent.

Peter is one of the most unique and original touring comedy acts today. A comedy magician with over 40 years of experience. Peter Hinrichs has been working as a professional entertainer for the last 35 years. He studied theater at the School of Performing and Visual Arts in San Diego, California and with members of the Royal Shakespeare Company at the University of California in Santa Barbara, Cal

ifornia. He has been a part of over 250 different theatrical performances in Mexico, the USA and Canada. Using the pseudonym of Peter the Adequate, he has worked as a magician for most of his life and entertained millions around the world with his magic. Equally comfortable with a small group in an intimate setting as he is in large venues, Peter entertains his audience and keeps them amused, amazed and enchanted, by never losing sight of the fact that the audience is the reason for the show. Be prepared to become a part of the show, whether you are invited to join him on stage, participate from your seat or just by getting wrapped up in the hilarity and magic. Whether he is performing a baffling and entertaining card trick, a mind boggling feat of mind reading, a daring escape routine or an entertaining bit of comedy magic, Peter’s constant focus is on keeping the audience as involved as possible. Peter touches the lives of everyone he performs for. He will tickle your funny bone and pluck your heart strings as he amuses and amazes you with his magic. Peter is a proud member of the Society of American Magicians, The International Brotherhood of Magicians, past member of the Pacific Coast Association of Magicians and a past president of the Texas Association of Magicians. He is also one of the two co-founders and General Director of the famed Magic Camp in Austin, Texas. He recently returned to Austin, Texas, from a six year venture in Branson, Missouri where he performed in two of his own shows (“The Magic of Peter the Adequate” and “The Many Faces of Peter the Adequate”). In Branson he also performed with other shows (“2 Fluffy Women”, “The Theatreland Murders”, “A Midsummer’s Night Dream”, “Friday Night Live Cabaret” and “Friday After Dark Cabaret”). Currently he travels around the country performing, speaking and educating.

I have been so busy this month, that I keep forgetting to post about this. Between all of my shows (over 80 this month), getting ready for the Austin Magic Auction on November 4th, and planning Fantastic Magic Camp 2024, I barely have a chance to breathe.
But I am having FUN!
The majority of my shows are at the Texas Pumpkin Fest. Bonzo Crunch, Magical Mystical Michael, and I will be performing Thursday through Sunday the entire month of October, from 11:30 am to 6:00 pm.

Texas Pumpkin Fest

This year provides even more attractions and fun for all, including free train rides and hundreds of thousands of pounds of pumpkins and gourds to choose from. Enjoy magic shows, pro-wrestling matches, pumpkin smashing, axe throwing, a 24-person Tasmanian Spinner, a 65-foot slide, a giant Pumpkin Spinner, a Ferris wheel, a pirate ship, a mechanical bull, rock climbing, and face painting. Also, there will be more food trucks than ever before, plus beer and wine served up by the VFW.
The Texas Pumpkin Fest family has been producing pumpkin patches for over 30 years and this year’s Pumpkin Fest is the best experience yet.

For 30 years, Fantastic Magic Camp has brought wonder, joy and fun to thousands of children and their families. Together, we learn magic, juggling, puppetry and — most importantly — self-confidence and valuable life skills. Fantastic Magic Camp is a fully inclusive summer and school break day camp. A place to belong.
Like so many, Fantastic Magic Camp was hit hard by the pandemic.
We were closed most of 2020, and we had to close some sessions in 2021 as well. On top of that, most of our important camp equipment was already in need of replacement by the time COVID came around. Now we need to pull a very big rabbit out of a very small hat, so to speak.
Fantastic Magic Camp needs $30,000 to keep doing great work for another 30 years.
