There are still spots open in my Thursday morning Master Copy class at the Dougherty Art Center!

This is a copy I made in college of Joan Brown's "Self Portrait with Fur Hat" from 1972. It was made so early in my painting journey I photographed it myself so it's not a perfect documentation, but I made this piece at 36 x 48''. It's large. I learned SO much from this study, and I truly believe copying the work of an artist who has solved certain problems in painting already is a fantastic way to learn.

Come learn with me! Thursdays 10am-1pm, June 11th - July 2nd. You can register online today or call the front desk at the DAC to register over the phone if the website deadline has passed, up until the day before the class starts.

A POV shot of the controlled chaos of my studio. My happy place. Paintings are stacked against the wall, I'm sitting for this commission with my palette on my lap and what I'm not showing is piles of brushes and paints. 😆

This space is sacred, I'm taking a moment to intentionally sit & love it. I'm about to downsize again, so while that's intimidating considering what my studio holds, it's also exciting because new spaces present new opportunities to cut out more of what does not serve & to stop holding onto excessive materials.

Hello all! I'm really excited to announce this show by Bolm Arts and that my piece "Ergo Sum" is out and about for public viewing.
'Art & Empathy' is a dynamic group show at the AISD Performing Arts Center. Please join us this Wed night for an opening reception from 6-8pm at The Back Box Gallery. I will be there and I will have prints for sale as well.

My second painting drop off today was to a friend who loves owls, so this is his new little owl friend. 😍 I've already started making another to join this one. He was so happy with it and I'm so happy with it and it was an absolute joy to see his love for his new art!

Both drop offs today had little animal buddies I got to love on as well. Great day so far!

It's only 1pm and I've done two wonderful deliveries already today! First, dropped off "Smoke Screen" and got to see my work now hanging on the walls there. 🥰 I'm really excited to share my paintings with the folks who visit, and their upcoming event on April 25th is going to be fantastic. Check out She Rises, it's gonna be a party!
My next delivery deserves its own post. 😉

Super exciting news! I have recently joined The Women's Gallery with Julie Ahmad, and I now have a variety of paintings available at the gallery. Their Spring Art Party is taking place Sat April 25th from 7-10pm. While I can't make this one (I know, right?) it's going to be a PARTY and you CAN go enjoy a DJ, bites, sips and being surrounded by gorgeous art - check out tix and do reach out if interested!
