Let the Austin Beerworks Book Fair bring your grown up self back to that unique childhood joy. The Book Fair will feature local and independent book stores, art vendors, gift shops, and so much more! We’re excited to shine a spotlight on our new Volunteer Coordinator, Sal Miller!

A multi-talented crafter and longtime member of the ACR community, Sal will be taking the helm of our Volunteer Team, where they will lead the Core, Community, and Group Volunteer Programs. You may know them from their previous work on the Processing Team, behind the counter of Batreuse’s Emporium, and as our Saturday volunteer group leader, so they will likely be a familiar face to many. You may also have seen them in last year’s Reuse on the Runway fashion show, where they designed and modeled a clown costume made entirely from neckties, which was later featured in the Dougherty Arts Center show, Reuse on the Runway: The Exhibit.

Our signature runway show is coming up soon on Saturday, October 17 at Mueller's Branch Park Pavilion!

We'll have 48 amazing local designers showing 77 unique looks, all incorporating reuse materials and techniques!

Want to be part of the reuse fashion revolution? Secure your spot at Reuse on the Runway now! Tickets start at $20 for General Admission, and Premium Front Row tickets are officially sold out! ASL interpretation and accessible seating options will be available.

This year's event will feature fun activities including a photo booth, DIY Charm Station, live artist demo with our Reuse Artist in Residence, Charity Ridpath , and an opportunity to meet and greet the designers and models after the show during Close Up on the Couture! We'll also have a full bar, bake sale, and food truck on-site. You don't want to miss it!

This month’s Summer Sunday was all about sustainable style! We had 7 different local reuse vendors tabling on our portico. Each vendor had fashion forward items that were created from sustainable materials. No Clue Threads hosted a make your own patch station where participants could make a patch to be sewn on to a piece of clothing of their choice and Prints and Mends offered a visible mending station. We also hosted fellow non-profit Beautifully Loved who provided information about how to get involved with their mission to help empower children who are fighting chronic illnesses through fashion. Inside our center our Reuse Artist in Residence, Charity Ridpath, offered a free make and take session where participants could select a found object to be made into a wearable art piece. It was a great way to finish off our Summer Sundays series!

Help us design our next merch release! We're inviting local artists and creative folk to submit an original design for our next print run of ACR merch! 👕🛍

The deadline to submit a design is Monday, October 12 at 11:59PM. After we review all submissions, we’ll announce three finalists on our social media and our community will vote on the winning design. We’re looking for something that feels like ACR: colorful, fun, maybe a little weird and, above all, rooted in conservation. ♻🌈

The final design will appear on t-shirts, stickers, and tote bags, with sales supporting our conservation mission. The winner will receive a $75 ACR gift card, $50 worth of merch featuring their design, and promotion through ACR's social media, newsletters, and in-center signage (if they want!). 🏆

September’s Summer Sunday theme is Sustainable Style, celebrating our community members who make style sustainable. Bring an item of clothing to upcycle or mend with one of our vendors, or ! Learn about the mission of .loved a fashion-focused nonprofit empowering kids with chronic illnesses.
