Popular drag queens attempt to do arts and crafts with our host Adam Carmichael while being transported through a multitude of ‘80s theme challenges.
Austin indie singer-songwriter and video director/producer Adam Carmichael is your host for Zanie Cat, as we take you on a journey across time and space, through a world of mythical creatures, as we create a brand new web series that will BLOW YOUR MIND!
WHO ARE WE
Joining Adam is his producer Angeles Simona. Angeles will serve as Zanie Cat's director and producer. She brings her expertise as a director, producer and social media content creator to the show.
Zanie Cat will be shot on location at St Elmo Soundstage, an Austin-owned flex-space sound stage for film, video, photography and music production
WHAT IS ZANIE CAT?
Let me tell you a little bit about our project. We’ll be interviewing popular drag queens as we attempt to do arts and crafts while being transported through a multitude of 80’s theme challenges. Every week we will feature a new drag queen, a fresh D-I-Y you could follow at home, and at least one new challenge.
Our inspiration for Zanie Cat comes from ‘80s TV and movies as well as Japanese game shows -- think controlled chaos. We want to get to know our guests in ways that are unconventional; a different side than what you normally see on TV. One that’s a little kooky.
This project is important to us, because drag is more than what we see on mainstream media. In reality, it’s an expression of art - done by any gender and sexual identity. It’s an art form - thinking quick on one’s toes and creating something out of nothing.
We’ve spent the last couple months researching, planning, writing and collaborating with each other to make this series a reality.

LGBTQ+
The target demographic is the LGBTQ+ community. Adam Carmichael’s background as an indie musician and model has given him plenty of exposure to the segment of the population. Plus, the guest hosts all have appeal to the LGBTQ+ community.
DRAG FANS
The variety of drag being presented is just a small segment of a very diverse field, which we plan to expand on in future seasons. The co-hosts were each hand-selected to appeal to different segments of drag fandom.
CAMP
The series format will bring in a fun level of campiness to keep each episode fun and engaging and keep viewers returning for the laughs and to see what happens next.

Funds raised through crowdfunding will cover the production costs for the webseries' pilot season, featuring at least six 5-minute episodes with a different guest host in each episode. Production-related expenses include location rental, equipment rental, set production and production staffing.
