One of our employees, Reid Wilson was recently admitted to St. David's South Austin Medical Center after what doctors believe was a vehicle-related accident while he was riding his e-bike.
After the accident, Reid regained consciousness and, despite his injuries, was somehow able to walk his e-bike back home. His partner, Teal, quickly recognized that something was seriously wrong and called an ambulance.
Thankfully, Reid was wearing his helmet, which likely saved his life. Even so, he suffered significant injuries, including multiple broken ribs, a broken shoulder, a broken collarbone, and a punctured lung. During his hospitalization, doctors also discovered that Reid has atrial fibrillation (AFib), a heart condition that will require ongoing monitoring and care.
Reid has already undergone surgery and now faces a long road to recovery. Doctors expect that he will be unable to work for at least 6-8 weeks while he heals.
As many of you know, Reid is a beloved bartender who has spent years serving the Austin community with kindness, humor, and a welcoming smile. He's also a devoted dad and an incredible partner, family member, and friend.
During his recovery, Reid and his family will be facing lost income, mounting medical bills, and other unexpected expenses related to this accident. We are asking for any support you can provide to help ease the financial burden so he can focus on healing.
No donation is too small, and if you're unable to give, sharing this fundraiser would mean the world to us.
Thank you for supporting Reid as he works toward a full recovery and getting back to doing what he loves.
