ENTRE DOS CIELOS
Cirque Vida + 78644 present an original international production where Texas meets Mexico through circus, dance, and live music.

Entre Dos Cielos explores the stories, traditions, and connections between Texas and Mexico through contemporary circus, dance, physical storytelling, and live music.

Created by Austin-based Cirque Vida and co-produced by 78644 Podcast, the 75-minute production brings together an international ensemble of artists from Mexico, Canada, and the United States, featuring original music by acclaimed Texas-based group Deadman and choreography and assistant direction by Edgar Zendejas.

For its Lockhart premiere, the production will also feature students from Lockhart High School’s Mariachi Program, bringing local young musicians into select moments of the performance.

Developed through an artistic residency in Cuernavaca, Mexico, Entre Dos Cielos brings an international creative exchange home to Texas.

✨ ENTRE DOS CIELOS:
A NEW CONTEMPORARY CIRCUS CREATION ✨

What happens when two worlds, two cultures, and two places meet in the space between them?

Entre Dos Cielos is Cirque Vida’s newest original contemporary circus production, exploring the complexity, beauty, and unique heritage of Texas’s multicultural identity and its deep connection to Mexico.

The creation process began internationally, bringing together Mexican and North American circus artists, dancers, musicians, and choreographers to explore movement, identity, migration, memory, and belonging.

In July, we had the incredible opportunity to develop the first stage of Entre Dos Cielos during an international artist residency at Centro Cultural Teopanzolco in Cuernavaca, Mexico.

Entre Dos Cielos premieres in Lockhart, Texas, October 9–11, 2026.

This production brings together circus, dance, live music, and cultural collaboration to tell a story that exists between two skies—and belongs to both.

Cirque Vida Casting Call 🤸🏽‍♀️New Contemporary Circus Production

Cirque Vida is seeking highly collaborative contemporary circus artists for an upcoming original production in Central Texas. We are looking for artists who are passionate about storytelling through movement and enjoy working in an ensemble-driven creative process.

Contract Details

- Location: Central Texas
- Rehearsals & Performances: October 2–12
- Paid rehearsals and performances
- Flights and accommodations provided

Seeking

1. Cyr Wheel Artist

- Strong Cyr wheel technique
- Secondary specialty in Contortion or a Vertical Aerial Apparatus (silks, rope)
- Experience with contemporary dance and collaborative creation

2. Contortionist

- Strong contortion technique
- Secondary specialty in a Vertical Aerial Apparatus or Cyr Wheel
- Experience with contemporary dance and collaborative creation

Requirements

All applicants must:

- Have experience with dance and choreography
- Be comfortable learning and performing ensemble choreography and group acrobatics
- Enjoy collaborative creation and devised work
- Be legally authorized to work in the United States

Juan Sebastian Cruz is a Colombian-American performer who proudly calls Houston, TX home. He started juggling in high school as a hobby but it wasn't until after graduating from college that he discovered the rola bola and truly fell in love with the world of circus. He has been balancing, clowning, juggling, and entertaining audiences ever since.
