Hello everyone,

We wanted to get on here and update you guys that we’ll be taking a longer than expected pause of Pure Ecstatic dances for the time being.

Life is often unpredictable and we always seek to do what is most aligned for us and the community currently.

Many of you have reached out and asked about future dances so I’m sure this is not the news you wanted to hear but rest assured we will be back to hosting more dances in the future. For now we’ll take time to keep learning and growing, with the plan to come back with an even better set up when the time is right.

We’ll post other dance opportunities around Austin in the mean time so keep checking back. The dance will go on 🕺🏼🙌🏽💃🏼

We’re less than a week away from the next dance! Come shake off the craziness of SX week with us 3/22 ✨

The theme this month has been “the collective whole.” We’ll be going over how to feel more connected to your fellow dancers in the practice 🌐🙌🏽💚

We wanted to revisit the logo and tell the story behind the design here.

We wanted this logo to represent the energy of the dance at Pure Ecstatic. What kind of dance is it? Well Ecstatic Dances can vary in vibe, depending on the dance. We wanted Pure Ecstatic dances to specifically be one of relating and connecting with others. We really wanted to emphasize the idea of dancing together, whether in contact or not 🕺🏽💃🏼🕺🏻💃🏾

One of the best things I heard from the elders at dance many years ago was this idea that on the floor, you’re never dancing alone. We’re all in the dance together. That’s why we have 3 dancers on the logo 🙌🏽

The fire they dance around represents the energy created in the room during a dance. The energy felt in the room is reflective of the dancers and the energy they bring each day. Without continued energy from the dancers, the fire will go out. The image calls to a simpler time where people of all cultures used to gather in a similar way 🔥

This all ties into the theme for the upcoming dance on March 9th, “The Collective Whole.” It comes from the idea that although we might be physically separate, we’re all part of a collective whole, of life. For both dances in March we’ll put a focus on this theme 🌐💗

The event page has been added to the Linktree in the bio. We’re switching to RSVP’s now then pay at the door to avoid service fees (sorry Eventbrite). We’ll be accepting CC, cash, or Venmo. Please come ready to pay at the door. Price is still $25 - $35 sliding scale 💸
