🥁 🥁 SUMMIT ANNOUNCEMENT 🥁 🥁

If you missed my Substack post on Wednesday, the Midwest House Summit is teaming up with Cincinnati based FNDRYx to offer every founder who attends a comprehensive “capital readiness assessment” ahead of the event.

Sounds kind of dry, I know, but actually this going to be pretty cool. Here’s how it’ll work:
- Every founder with a ticket will receive the link to create a FNDRYx readiness assessment (26 questions)
- Y’all will receive a Capital Readiness Assessment that will include both a Business “Readiness Assessment” and “Investment Readiness Assessment” as well as some concrete items that you can do to improve
- In turn, we’re going to use correlated results to shape the sessions around what y’alls business needs right
- We’ll also be using the score to provide better matchmaking with mentors, programs and capital that fit where you are
- And even after the Summit, FNDRYx will send a pulse check to see whether you gained anything from the event and the connections. And it will again provide you with concrete next steps.

None of this is complicated. It’s just leveraging technology to create a more intentional environment.

Tickets are on sale now at the link in our bio and the FNDRYx links will start going out today. Founders, grab your ticket with code FNDRYX2026 for $100 off.

ESOs and accelerators: we have Founder Track ticket packages so you can bring your cohort. DM me.

🗣️ Last call: Early Bird pricing for the Midwest House Summit in Grand Rapids ends tonight at midnight. Prices jump from $149 to $300 after that — so grab’em now (link in bio)

One of my favorite parts of last year’s event was watching it actually pull in our regional community. We had attendees travel in from more than 17 states to spend a few snowy December days with us in GR. And this year out of our first 90-some tickets - we already have 8 states represented!!!

Love to see it.

We made a few more tickets available for today, but don’t miss the deadline — get your Early Bird 🦩 ticket before midnight!!!

One of our fave conversations from Midwest House Summit 2025 is now up on our YouTube.

Anthony Deptula Deptula of BMP Creative — yes, the agency of record for Netflix socials), Kim Gamez (Sober(ish)™️ — $1M in organic sales, year one), and Scott Burak & Bryce Bortscheller (Map Dot Media the team behind Midwest vs the Rest on IG) broke down what actually works when it comes to growing a brand on social.

Watch it via the link in our bio.

And while we’re at it — the Summit is coming back to Grand Rapids.
December 2–3, 2026. Bamboo Grand Rapids.

50 Early bird tickets remain and the deadline to grab them before the price doubles on Friday, August 15th.

🚨 🚨 DATE ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨 🚨 We’re not done with the sirens emojis quite yet.

Last December, in the middle of a snowstorm, 500+ of you founders, packed into a brand-new Bamboo Grand Rapids to create a density of doers and dreamers real enough to feel like the future had arrived early.

This year, we back, bigger and badder. Midwest House takes over Bamboo Grand Rapids DECEMBER 2 + 3 for two days of on-stage inspiration, curated connections, and “this can happen here” discovery that’ll have you talking through the New Year.

A decade of building the region’s most trusted network taught us the room isn’t the magic — who’s in it is. GR born. Regionally representative. Taking on the globe.

Come build with us.

Early Bird Tickets are on sale now. They’re limited and they’re only available till 8/15. Grab them while you can via the link in our bio.

🚨 🚨 Twenty-five speakers in....not done yet. 🎤 🚀

Midwest House Summit Ohio, July 29–31, Columbus.
Here’s today’s batch:
Andy Sparks — Executive coach to 20 startup CEOs and a decade-long founder himself. He co-founded Mattermark (B2B analytics, $5M ARR, 150K newsletter subscribers) and Holloway (digital publishing), raised over $20M in venture capital, and wrote The Holloway Guide to Raising Venture Capital. Now he’s building Management Craft — a library of mental models and frameworks for management — and coaching the people in the rooms where decisions actually get made.
Jonathan Poma — Co-Founder and now Board Chair of Loop, the Columbus-based returns platform that put Ohio on the map in ecommerce infrastructure. Jonathan has moved on to his next chapter: a new AI company currently in stealth. Worth paying attention to whatever comes next.
Shanna Greathouse — Leads Startup Programs at Ohio Startup Network, including the HustleBus Founder Exchange — one of the more creative approaches to getting founders out of their bubbles and into each other’s rooms. She’s also a founder herself, building pigybak , which means she knows the work from both sides.
Kristin Bailey (Martin) — Part of the team at Innovatemap, the product design and strategy firm that helps software companies figure out what to build and how to bring it to market. Based in the Midwest. Deeply in the product weeds.
Arnab Nandi — Professor of Computer Science & Engineering at Ohio State, ACM Distinguished Member, and one of the rare academics who has also been a founder. He co-founded OHI/O (Ohio State’s hackathon and tech culture program) and The STEAM Factory (an interdisciplinary research and collaboration network) — and previously founded Mobikit, a connected vehicles data analytics startup acquired by Azuga, a Bridgestone company. PhD from University of Michigan.

🚨 🗣️ SPEAKER DROP 🎤 🚨
Some post 4th of July fireworks for you...speaker announcements round 3 for Midwest House Summit Ohio (July 29–31, Columbus). Today’s group covers capital, health tech, deep tech, and the infrastructure that makes ecosystems work.

Kim Patel — Working with early-stage founders in the Midwest for J.P. Morgan, helping them find clarity at the intersection of institutional capital and entrepreneurial ambition — because the biggest banks in the world are paying attention to what gets built here.
Alex ‘Fro’ Frommeyer — Founder and CEO of Stack Health Inc. and co-founder of Beam Benefits, which he scaled from a Columbus startup into a national insurtech company — now building the operating system for personalized, individually-owned health coverage.
Julia Dewey, MPH — Chief Partnerships Officer at Rev1 Ventures, our Summit co-host and Columbus’s home for venture development — the person connecting founders, investors, and institutions across one of the fastest-growing startup ecosystems in the country.
Tim Grace — Managing Director at Techstars Columbus powered by Ohio State, backing AI-native and deep tech founders in aerospace, advanced manufacturing, and defense — and one of the most active pre-seed investors in the Midwest.
Mickayla Zinsli Rosard Rosard — Partner at Groove Capital, the Minneapolis-based pre-seed firm building one of the most active angel networks in the region and helping funnel serious capital into upper Midwest founders who too often get overlooked.

More speaker drops this week. We’re three and a half weeks out, and the excitement is getting palpable.
