NEW BAND ANNOUNCEMENT: DEMONS MY FRIENDS

Demons My Friends are a Mexican rock band that feel less like a project and more like a jolt of electricity. Rooted in heavy, riff-driven rock with a modern alternative edge, their sound favors impact over polish: thick guitars, propulsive rhythms, and vocals that carry equal parts grit and melody. Their songs thrive on tension and release, built for loud rooms and close crowds.

Over the past year, the band has honed a sharper, heavier identity, leaning into themes of inner conflict, resilience, and raw emotion. Onstage, Demons My Friends are direct and relentless, turning energy into communion and volume into purpose. They don’t chase trends or nostalgia; they play rock as something alive and necessary, with the confidence of a band hungry to push forward.

Demons My Friends have recently signed a worldwide deal with Ripple Music for the release of their upcoming sophomore album in April of 2026.

NEW BAND ANNOUNCEMENT: HOWLING GIANT

HOWLING GIANT take another huge step on their third full-length “Crucible & Ruin”, a collection of sparking ideas, captivating melodies, and heavy riffing close to perfection - quite a feat of on-point songwriting for such a still young band! This is the band’s first album to feature new fourth member Adrian Lee Zambrano. Although the guitarist and synth player arrived somewhat toward the end of the writing process, he was still able to add his mark with cool textures on the record. The extra guitar certainly adds even more punch to HOWLING GIANT ‘s sound, which delivers a slightly more aggressive approach compared with predecessor “Glass Future” (2023). They even leaned into some raw band live takes to capture the emotion in the room. HOWLING GIANT hail from Nashville, Tennessee, USA, sidestepping the self-proclaimed Music City’s assembly line of modern pop country while taking inspiration from the brilliant songwriters and virtuoso session players that keep the town’s musical legacy burning bright. Fertile ground for a preeminent fuzz-psych power trio, now turned quartet, who consciously live in the pocket of that lineage! HOWLING GIANT storm forward once more in defiant refusal to remain still. Having grown into a four-piece as well as in their prowess as musicians and songwriters, “Crucible & Ruin” is an album at least as big as their name. Don’t take our word for it, just give it a spin – or two or three...

NEW BAND ANNOUNCEMENT: GRAN MORENO

Born in Mexico City and forged under the Texas sun, Gran Moreno channels the pulse of the desert and the fire of the soul into pure psychedelic rock alchemy. Now rooted in Austin, the band has emerged as one of the city’s most electrifying new acts, lighting up stages atLevitation and RippleFest Texas with their explosive performances.

Their recently released album, El Sol, captures that same intensity — a blazing journey of fuzz, rhythm, and transcendence, where Spanish lyricism meets cosmic soundscapes. With every show, Gran Moreno turns sound into ceremony and emotion into light.

Another band we just had to have back after they blew everyone away last year. Their live show is so energetic and genuine you won’t want to miss it!

NEW BAND ANNOUNCEMENT: FISTER

Fister is a St. Louis based three piece band formed in 2009, delivering a slow and oppressive strain of sludge drenched doom built on raw power rather than embellishment. The band’s sound centers on punishing riffs, a deep low end, harsh vocals, and a measured sense of structure and melody.

Since forming, Fister has released more than 20 recordings, including six full length albums, while maintaining the same lineup throughout its existence. That consistency has shaped a focused and controlled approach that favors cohesion and endurance over reinvention.

The lineup gets better by the day! Be sure to get your tickets now!

NEW BAND ANNOUNCEMENT: MR. PLOW

For over 25 years, Mr. Plow from Houston, Texas, has thrilled listeners with their original brand of heavy rock. Taking musical inspiration from heavy 1990s bands (like Fu Manchu, Kyuss, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Melvins, Clutch, Helmet, Quicksand, and others) and lyrical inspiration from popular culture and novels (particularly those of Kurt Vonnegut), Mr. Plow self-released 3 albums: Head On (2000); Cockfights and Pony Racin’ (2004); and Asteroid 25399 (2006). Mr. Plow then signed with Ripple Music and released their fourth album, Maintain Radio Silence, in August 2018 (a mere 12 years after their last release). Mr. Plow is currently working on material for a new album, which will hopefully be released sometime before 2030.

It just wouldn’t be a RippleFest Texas without having Mr. Plow! Get your tickets now!

NEW BAND ANNOUNCEMENT: REBREATHER

Youngstown, Ohio noise rock / sludge metal band Rebreather creates punishing, tenacious, and metallic music that seethes and breathes. More than a barrage of stark noise and earthen sludge, Rebreather creates songs; glorious, winding songs that allow dissonant, harmonic guitar/bass tones to soothe before they strike, drumming that builds and then batters, and vocals that display a powerful, shimmering vulnerability.

Rebreather has been on Lick of My Spoon’s radar for years and we are excited to finally bring them to Texas! This is a live show you won’t want to miss!
