Ok.
I'm still here. Just been.... you know. Acclimating.
I'm really glad we have the internet, for so many reasons. I get to speak to some people I otherwise would never have known. I get to save the things we say to eachother in a screenshot and put it into external storage if I like. There are ways to keep a personal archive of things we find online
But low tech is my favorite way to learn. As a child of the 70s, to me, nothing beats a good old fashioned paper book that I can hold in my hands, that someone would have to get physical, face to face, to remove from my posession. It works in all weather, and all you need is a candle if the power is out. Nothing beats a paper book for comfort. Like some other self protection tools, books are best when in the hands of people who are willing to respect them, study them, memorize them, and when necessary, use them for their intended purpose.
The most powerful book in the world, though, is the blank book. This is the one with your personal, individual, potential inside. This is the one we use to record the things we have learned, and the things we are seeking to understand. We write our insights, and practice our vocabulary in the blank book's pages. We write down our notes and cite our sources in this book. This is the book that no one else ever, ever....ever, sees. This is the book you cradle in your death bed, and place in the hands of your worthiest young relation, whether she understands it or not. Someday, she'll want you desperately, and there you will be, in those pages, holding her hand, or saving her sanity, maybe even saving her life.
Fight for her. Fight for you.
And may the Morrigan guide your hand.
