Henry Purcell was the English-born master composer of the Baroque. He became the organist of Westminster Abbey at age 20. Written in the year before he died, the incidental music for The Virtuous Wife was a play by Thomas D’Urfey about mistaken identity and deception. The music is courtly and charming. Don’t miss this beautiful work at our concert on October 25 at St. Mark’s Lutheran. Ticket link in the comments, or buy a ticket at the door!
