Well… last night was THE night. ❤️🎨
My painting, “On the Road to Brighter Futures,” was auctioned at the Advocates for Children CASA event — and I’m still trying to process what happened.
It was the very last item of the auction, following some incredible packages — including a trip to Italy and an amazing Denver sports package with tickets to every major sport.
And then came our painting.
It sold for $7,000. Yes… $7K! 😭❤️
I was completely overwhelmed.
But what means the most to me isn’t the dollar amount. It’s that the people in that room saw the meaning behind this painting.
Each balloon was painted by a foster kiddo. 🎈
They each chose their colors, picked up a paintbrush, and added their own balloon to the piece. Each one represents a child, a story, a journey — and most importantly, a brighter future ahead.
I may have started the painting, but those kiddos are what made it special.
To know that something we created together raised $7,000 to support Advocates for Children CASA is something I will never forget.
My cup is overflowing today. ❤️
Sometimes art is so much more than paint on a canvas.
This was one of those times.
