Aurora Cultural Arts Play with us and exercise your right brain! The City of Aurora offers a wide variety of classes in theatre, dance, fine art, and music for all ages.

- Program offerings include public weekly classes, summer camps, and workshops throughout Aurora.
- Custom designed outreach programming is also available through the Denver Metro Area for before/after school or during the school day. Work with our outreach coordinator to help shape a program perfectly suited to meet your classroom or school’s needs.
- Various productions throughout the year incl

uding youth theatre/dance productions, arts festivals featuring various performers, and cultural concerts.
- Internships for both high school and college aged students.
- Specific topics include:
Drama: beginning/intermediate acting, play writing, storytelling, dialects, stage combat,, team building, musical theatre, improv, Shakespeare, makeup, greek Mythology, Native American or African Storytelling. Dance: beginning and continuing courses for ages 3- adult including ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, modern, poms, hip-hop, belly dancing, Bollywood, burlesque, ballroom

Fine Arts: pottery, drawing, painting, sculpting, jewelry making, anime, photography,

Music: piano, guitar, ukelele, drumming, building thumb pianos, singing

THEATRE CLASSES

Develop lifelong skills such as listening, self-confidence, reading, memorization, focus and concentration. We strongly encourage consistent attendance for all theatre classes. STORY BOOK, ALIVE! WILD THINGS (4 weeks)

Age 4 to 7

Bring stories about wild animals and some favorite wild things to life! Act out a different story each week, performing a favorite story on the final day of class. Students must have classroom experience and be able to use the restroom independently. 8881 Monday, Oct. 19 to Nov. 16 (No class Nov. 2), 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. (Instructor: Ariel Gomez)

MUSIC CLASSES

INTRO TO YOUTH PIANO FUNDAMENTALS (4 weeks)

Ages 4 to 7

Perfect for beginners, this class welcomes students with little to no prior experience. They’ll develop strong keyboard geography, explore rhythm and sound, strengthen listening skills and build body awareness. Explore portraiture drawing through step-by-step lessons. Students will learn to capture facial features, proportions and expression through guided exercise. Each week introduces a new technique, helping artists create expressive portraits. Instructor: David Chatfield. 9300 Tuesday, Oct. 6 to Nov. 3, 1 to 3 p.m.

WATERCOLOR DAYS (5 Weeks)

Ages 14 to Adult

Immerse yourself in the rich, shifting colors of Fall as you explore expressive watercolor techniques. Through soft washes and playful experimentation, you’ll capture autumn’s leaves, texture and atmosphere. Instructor: Hilliard Moore. 9301 Thursday, Oct. 8 to Nov. 5, 1 to 3 p.m.

OIL PAINTING (5 weeks)

Ages 14 to Adult

Experience the beauty of golden hour through the world of oil paint. With guidance from a new instructor excited to share their artistic style, you’ll explore color, expressive brushwork and techniques that bring your artwork to life. CREATIVE DRAWING FOR YOUNG ADULTS (4 weeks)

Ages 11 to 16

Take your drawing skills to the next level! Students will strengthen core techniques like perspective, shading, form and composition. Through focused practice and more complex projects, students will learn how to create detailed, expressive drawings. Instructor: Hilliard Moore. 9275 Wednesday, Oct. 7 to 28, 6 to 7:30 p.m.

YOUTH DRAWING II (4 weeks)

Ages 7 to 12

Jump into the world of drawing! This class focuses on the basics of drawing and using your imagination to practice important skills that help bring artwork to life. When planning for the future, it’s essential to take a deep dive into the past, and celebrate the wins (big and small) along the way!

Arts, libraries and culture are the infrastructure of connection. In 2025, we “built for belonging.” Using years of exploration, community support and your thoughtful feedback, we were able to accomplish great things, including:

* Hosting 96,000 participants in Arts Education
* 2.8 million uses of services
* 476 community events at and
* Over 300 public artworks via
* 12,484 visitors at
..and that doesn’t even scratch the surface! We heard countless stories along the way about how little moments of community care led to big impacts on people’s lives, strengthening their sense of belonging.
