Zurdo (Bryan Ortega - Bryan Ortega) started a new chapter in Colorado a year ago and has fallen right into Aurora’s art scene, tattooing at ACAD’s Love Always Destroys Hate (L.A.D.H TATTOOS ). Now he’s making an even bigger mark as one of the Colfax Canvas 2026 muralists!

Welcome Gus Rey (Gus Rey) to the Colfax Canvas 2026 lineup! 🎨
Gus grew up a short drive from Aurora, and this city has been a part of his life since childhood — now he’s bringing that connection full circle, collaborating on a new mural in ACAD.

Next up on the muralist roster we have Aiko Szymczak(Aiko Szymczak).

“At the heart of my practice is storytelling. Through black-and-white portraiture, I capture real people who experience moments of joy, contemplation, and hardship. These people and stories reflect the resilience of everyday people and the ones who rise, quietly and imperfectly, using what little they have to move forward anyway.”

Due to unforeseen circumstances, one of the selected artists will unfortunately not be joining us to paint this year. We wish them all the best and can’t wait to see the incredible work they creates next!

That means we’re opening the door to another artist. If you applied and are curious, we’ll be reaching out in the next day for a replacement. In the meantime, we’ll have another muralist announcement tomorrow!
