🎶 A new week is underway at MEI! 💚

Our scholars are continuing to grow in confidence, creativity, and academic stamina as they work toward their PEP goals. This week, we’re especially excited to begin our Kroc Center partnership, with students exploring Culinary Arts, Business Economics, Art, and Physical Education on Mondays and Wednesdays. Families can also schedule their Term 1 Midterm PEP Talk for Friday, August 28.

🎶 Harmony Notes is here! 💚

Week 3 at MEI was filled with creativity, connection, and new beginnings!

⚙️ Our scholars became young innovators during the Mini Engineer Expo, designing, building, testing, and sharing their creations.

🎨 In art, students explored color theory and began preparing for their self-portraits.

🤝 We welcomed ADA Kelli Spencer and Cherise Davis, Director of Community Engagement, from the District Attorney’s Office for a campus visit and tour.

🌱 Students continued developing their Personalized Education Plans (PEPs).

🎶 We’re also excited about our new collaboration with DeKel mPact Academy, bringing opportunities in band, chorus, ballroom dancing, schoolwide productions, and RAMPS — Regional Arts and Music Performance Society.

🎭 Plus, Annie Jr. auditions and crew opportunities are on the horizon!

Next up: our rescheduled Kroc Center Field Study Orientation and another exciting week of learning.

🎶 Week 1 is officially in the books!

What an incredible beginning to the 2026–2027 school year at MelodiousOne Educational Institute. During our first week, students built new relationships, practiced our daily routines, explored the REACH Core Values, completed hands-on learning activities, began setting personal goals, and discovered more about how they learn best.

We also enjoyed welcoming our families and community partners during Open House, including JLUL Transportation and Expedition STEAM Adventures.

Now, we are looking forward to Week 2! This week, students will continue building confidence and independence while welcoming two community partners to campus:

🎶 The First Note of a New Year

Today, we officially begin the 2026–2027 school year at MelodiousOne Educational Institute!

This year, our students will learn, create, explore, reflect, and grow within a community where their individual strengths and voices are valued. From Morning Gathering and Mastery Lab to Read/Write/Draw, Creative Discovery, and The Final Note, every part of our day is designed to help students become more confident, curious, and connected.

During our first week, we are taking time to get to know one another, establish meaningful routines, set personal goals, and begin our Yearlong Word Journals. Together, we will explore the values that guide our MEI family:

One thing I’ve learned through building organizations, applying for funding, and navigating community partnerships is that access matters — but understanding the process matters just as much.

So many small businesses, nonprofits, and service providers are capable of doing excellent work, but they don’t always know where to find opportunities or how to position themselves to win them.

That’s why I’m excited to help promote Mission United’s final cohort session with GovConNOW: Bid & Win Workshop.

This is not just a sit-and-listen workshop. It’s a hands-on session designed to help participants understand where contracts are, how to read the opportunity, and how to build a clear next-step plan.

💚 ONE YEAR. ONE VISION. COUNTLESS MEMORIES. 💚

As we enter the final week of MelodiousOne Educational Institute's first full school year, we find ourselves reflecting on just how far we've come.

This year, our students learned, created, performed, explored, served, and grew. Together, we celebrated achievements, embraced challenges, built friendships, and lived out our core values of Resilience, Excellence, Achievement, Community, and Honesty.

This week, our students will participate in Tropical Trek Vacation Bible School at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, with our older students serving as volunteer helpers and leaders. Friday will mark our final Field Study Friday of the school year, closing out a year filled with discovery and adventure.

To our students, families, volunteers, community partners, and supporters—thank you for believing in the vision and helping us build something special.

Year One is coming to a close, but the journey is just beginning.

Have a safe, restful, and restorative summer. We can't wait to see what Year Two has in store. ✨
