Congratulations to Matt Dinerman who was named the new track announcer at Oaklawn Park! Matt’s first race announcing job was here at Emerald Downs. He flew in to audition on May 9, 2015 and here is the stretch call of the first race he called. We knew right away he was going to be GREAT!

Wiener Dog Race Update!

Facebook friends! The anticipation is real for the Wiener dog and Wiener wannabe races this Sunday, and we can't wait to see who takes the crown 🏆. While we won't be able to show the heat draws live on Facebook today, we've got some great news!

We'll be posting the race heat draws by 1:30pm PST today, so make sure you stay tuned to find out which adorable furballs will be competing in the spotlight. 🏁 We're in for a treat with 4 thrilling races for the wiener dogs and 3 heated heats for the wannabes.

Who will be the World Champion T-Rex? We will find out today. Anyone can race as long as you have an inflatable T-Rex costume. If you need one, we have them on sale at the Gift Shop starting at 1:30pm. Today’s schedule…T-Rex registration in the park 12:30 to 2pm. First Horse race at 2pm. T-Rex heats will be after horse races 2 (2:30pm) and 4. Championship after Race 6. Gates open at noon. Come watch or come race! Fun for all!

The Corgi Races from July 23 will air on ESPN 2 Friday night at 9pm (pacific time) and on Saturday night 9:30pm on ESPN News. It was a fun and exciting day! Our producers Wes Petree and Cy Labar worked many hours and did a great job editing the show. Thanks to all the participants, sponsors, and all the fans.

Gates are now open. The Super Mario Brothers Movie will be shown on the big screen from 1pm to 2:30pm. There will be a special appearance from the Budweiser Clydesdales in the park at 3 p.m. Racing begins at 5 p.m. Fireworks spectacular begins at 10 p.m. If you are arriving after racing begins we strongly suggest you park at the Auburn Transit Center and take our shuttle (located near Bay 6).
