Thank you to everyone who came out to the Gogue last night to hear our Fall Concert! ✨🎶

It was an amazing night of exploring the music of the final frontier and celebrating all of the hard work out musicians have poured into every piece. We are continually touched by how much the Auburn community shows up for these performances as we truly would not be able to put on these concerts all of your support and encouragement. 🌙💛

Star Trek: Through the Years is a concert medley that reflects the enduring motto " to boldly go where no one has gone before," capturing humanity's curiosity, courage, and hope for the future. Arranged by Calvin Custer, he skillfully blends nostalgia with excitement, making the suite a dynamic tribute to the Star Trek legacy and its vision of discovery among the stars.

James Horner's magnificent score plays a key role in the 1995 film, Apollo 13, as it captures both the excitement and courage of space exploration. Based on a true story of a mission transformed from a planned lunar landing into a dramatic fight for survival, Horner's piece honors the preserverence, teamwork, and the enduring human desire required to explore beyond our world.

Music of the Spheres was composed in 1868 by Josef Dtrauss, the younger brother of the famous 'Waltz King," Johann Strauss II. It's evocative title reflects the ancient idea that the movements of the planets and stars create a celestial harmony - the "music of the spheres."

The Planets, "Mars: The Bringer of War" was composed by Gustav Holst in 1915, just before the outbreak of World War I. The piece creates an atmosphere of relentless power and the inevitability of war, making it one of the most dramatic and influential orchestral works of the 20th century.

ACO is ready for take off! Composed in 1896, "Fanfare" from Also Sprach Zarathustra has remained one of the most recognizable openings in orchestral music. The piece achieved worldwide fame after its prominent use in 2001: A Space Odyssey, where it became synonymous with exploration, discovery, and the vastness of space.
