D5 Speedshop Drew Collins Motorsports has been operating since 2012. Drew began his racing career in 2012. He started out in the Young Guns class at Hartwell Speedway.

He and his dad put together a four cylinder, that they bought for junk at the scrap yard. In 2012 he went on to win 12 races, and the Championship in his division! In 2013 he made a big step, moving up to crate late models. The 2013 season was definitely a learning curve. He has been in late models ever since! Finally picking up his first ever late model win in 2016, after what seemed like an ete

rnity! Drew went on to have what we call a “record year” winning 9 late model races against some of the best guys in North Georgia! He captured the track Championship again at Hartwell Speedway in 2016! After 2016 he has been committed to the Southeastern Late Model Sportsman Series, picking up his first win with the series in 2017, and finally got the Series Championship in 2018!

4.18.26 - What a night

After the year 2025 was, taking some time off to finish building our house, and having a case of the new car blues the first couple weeks of 2026, everything went our way at Toccoa Raceway season opener

We set fast time by 2 tenths, got a great jump on the start of the feature and led all 25 laps but it was not without some struggle and excitement

After about 6 laps we had some issues in the brakes and couldn’t get the car to turn on entry so I had to really get up on the wheel and do the best I could and hold off Devon Morgan to get the win

It was our first win since 2024 which was also at Toccoa

I’m so blessed and thankful for everyone that’s been apart of this and makes this possible

The 2025 Racing Season is upon us 🏁

We ventured to North Ga Speedway for the Topless Outlaw season opener!

Struggling early on we put ourselves behind and started 7th in heat 1 were able to work our way in to the final transfer spot!

That put us starting the 40 lap feature 23rd
We definitely got the car and driver more comfortable and was able to make a few passes early and once we got past halfway way we were rolling good getting by a few more cars!
The last restart with 10 to go I decided to jump to the top side and make something happen passing 3 cars on the top at the end to finish 10th!!

Really happy with our car wished we had more laps to pick off a few more ! Our team doesn’t quit we worked hard all night through the rain the new track and just making the wrong adjustments but we made improvements all night and I’m super proud of our performance against some of the best steel blocks in the south!

HIGH BANKS HIATUS O V E R !

Collins goes back to Victory Lane at the high banks of Toccoa Raceway for the first time since 2019. A combination of bad cars, motor trouble, not racing at Toccoa as often, and struggling the few times we did, had us wondering if seeing the checkered flag there was gonna be in the cards for us again.

We set fast time, started on the pole with Daniel Wilson, and threw a nasty slider on him in turn 1 and slid way further than I hoped. Daniel had me beat to turn 3, but I was able to get back around on the outside to lead the race flag to flag. I appreciate him racing me clean. We had a mishap with the breather, but thankfully it held on making this Win #3 on the season.

Running the topless outlaws series last season, really helped us learn some things that work well on tracks with significant banking, and we were able to take what we learned and apply that at Toccoa, and it made all the difference. The car felt the best it’s ever felt around that place, and I have my team to thank for that, and we feel good leading in to this $10k to win event here next week.

With the 2024 seasons fast approaching! Our team is still looking for sponsorship help! With the growing cost of late model racing and the increasing tire/fuel cost, we plan to race more Lavonia Speedwayand hit up some bigger shows but we are a small team and are looking for any kind of help big or small! Anything will be greatly appreciated and well promoted! We will be running with the Topless Outlaw Dirt Racing Series, Steel Block Bandits Dirt Late Model Challenge, and a few other big shows! We plan to run as many races we can this year! I just want to thank everyone for a great 2023 season it has its ups and downs but we set out to do something we didn’t think we could and surpassed our goals and came up just short of a championship our 1st season on the Topless Outlaw Dirt Racing Series

What an awesome year 2023 has been for our program!! From setting our sights on traveling with the Topless Outlaws and understanding that wins and top 5s could be way harder to come by this year. To winning 2 series races, winning Rookie of the Year, and coming in second overall in points, just behind hall of famer Skip Arp. We are very proud of what our little team accomplished. We ended the year with 4 total wins. Two at home locally at Lavonia, and 2 series wins at Tri-County and Sugar Creek, while being competitive and running near or in the top 5 at most every race. I can’t thank my dad for the opportunity to travel with some of the regions toughest guys, and Austin Shirley for sticking with me all year up and down the road. I appreciate everybody involved in helping us get to and around the racetrack this year!

Personally 2023 was a big year for our family and team with the addition of my niece Demy, and my recent engagement to my fiancé Morgan. I’m excited for 2024 both on and off the track and look forward to the beginning of the season!
