Coming Soon!

We are very pleased to announce our first production! We will be streaming a staged reading of Henrik's Ibsen's classic tragedy "Ghosts" early next year.

Written in 1881, "Ghosts" is a scathing commentary on morality. Perhaps one of Ibsen's most important works, it was banned in several countries for it's controversial and frank discussion of religion, familial roles, in**st, venereal disease, and euthanasia. As theatre critic Maurice Valency wrote in 1963, "regular tragedy dealt mainly with the unhappy consequences of breaking the moral code. "Ghosts", on the contrary, deals with the consequences of not breaking it."

When it was produced in England in 1891, it was reviled in the press, which referred to it as "a loathsome sore unbandaged; a dirty act done publicly ... gross, almost putrid indecorum ... literary carrion ... crapulous stuff." Now "Ghosts" is considered among Ibsen's greatest plays and one of the most important in Western theatre.

On her estate in rural Norway, Helen Alving lives with the bitter memory of her cruel, philandering late husband. To escape the ghosts that plague her, she decides to tell her son, Oswald, the truth about his outwardly respectable father when Oswald returns home from Paris. However, Oswald has returned home with a secret of his own. In Ibsen's "forbidden play", long-held secrets are revealed, uncomfortable truths are faced, and a troubled family meets a cruel and unavoidable fate.

Coming to Auburn, California, Winter 2022

A spikey, powerful, and nerve-wracking story of four real estate salesmen, colleagues in the same firm, who are engaged in a sales competition to try and sell off as many units of real estate as possible. But when some of the character feel that the leads are weighted in favor of those already doing well, alternative tactics are deployed to try and gain ground. Here is Mamet at his very best, writing with brutal power about the tough life of tough characters who cajole, connive, wheedle, and wheel and deal for a piece of the action -- where closing a sale can mean a brand new Cadillac but losing one can mean losing it all.

The play has been critically acclaimed since its first release, garnering major awards including the 1984 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, the 1984 New York Drama Critics' Circle for Best American Play, the 2005 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Revival of a Play, the 1983 Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Play, and the 2005 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play.

Coming to Auburn, California, October 2021.

On a sweltering summer morning in 1892, in a small New England city, a prominent businessman and his wife were brutally axed to death in their home. Their daughter Lizzie Borden was the prime suspect. Lizzie’s trial was a coast-to-coast media sensation, and her story has become an American legend.

Lizzie Borden took an axe
Gave her mother forty whacks
When she saw what she had done
Gave her father forty-one

LIZZIE is four women fronting a six-piece rock band. LIZZIE is rage, s*x, betrayal, and bloody murder. LIZZIE is American mythology set to a blistering rock score. LIZZIE is a new American musical with a sound owing less to Sondheim and Andrew Lloyd Webber than to Bikini Kill, the Runaways, and Heart.

Coming to Auburn, California, Spring 2021*

1939 Hollywood is abuzz. Legendary producer David O. Selznick has shut down production of his new epic, Gone with the Wind, a film adaptation of Margaret Mitchell’s novel. The screenplay, you see, just doesn’t work. So what’s an all-powerful movie mogul to do? While fending off the film’s stars, gossip columnists and his own father-in-law, Selznick sends a car for famed screenwriter Ben Hecht and pulls formidable director Victor Fleming from the set of The Wizard of Oz. Summoning both to his office, he locks the doors, closes the shades, and on a diet of bananas and peanuts, the three men labor over five days to fashion a screenplay that will become the blueprint for one of the most successful and beloved films of all time.
