The company is looking forward to a new year by kicking it off with a brand new ballet. Carmina Burana is a piece based on a collection of 13th century songs and poems composed by minstrels and monks who had freed themselves of monastic discipline. Below is a sneak peek. Tickets at acballet.org

Nutcracker Fun Fact-Tchaikovsky based the "voice" of the Sugar Plum Fairy on a new instrument he discovered in Paris: the celesta. The instrument had a clear, bell-like tone with ethereal notes, perfect for the fairy-tale ambiance of "The Nutcracker." Don't miss hearing this beautiful sound. Tickets at acballet.org

The company is excited to have Kelly LaVigna back as a vocalist for their It's A Shore Holiday performances!
Kelly started performing at a very young age. After studying dance with Thelma Hundertmark for 14 years, she changed her focus to vocal performance. Kelly was crowned Miss Atlantic County 1997 and Miss Essex County 1999, both giving her the opportunity to compete for Miss New Jersey as part of the Miss America Organization. She won 6 times in Showtime at the Apollo’s Amateur night and while attending Montclair State University for music, she was asked to be the opening act for R&B group “Jagged Edge”. Kelly’s voice has been featured with some of the top bands in the Tri State Area. She has worked with “Don’t Call Me Francis”, “Cheers The Band”, “The FM Band”, and many duos and trios in the Atlantic City and Pennsylvania Casinos. Most recently, Kelly can be seen as a featured vocalist with the “Party Wave Band”. When not performing, Kelly volunteers her time with D.A.R.E., Shore Medical Center, Ronald McDonald House, and Seasons of Giving. She resides in Hammonton NJ with her husband Bill and children, Billy, Logan, Nicole, Lauren, and Benjamin.

Please help us welcome Leonardo Bares to the company!
Leonardo was born in Milan, Italy and at the age of 3 began taking ballet lessons at the Maria Selvini dance school in Chiasso, Switzerland. At the age of 10 he moved to Munich, Germany, to attend the Hochchule für Musik und Theater München (Dance Academy). In 2016 he returned back to Italy, where he attended the professional ballet training course GAC (Boys/Girls at the centre). He has had the opportunity to perform on stage as a soloist variations and Pas de deux such as:-Gopak variation (Cor. Zakharov)- Le Corsaire Grand Pas (Cor. Marius Petipa)-Don Quixote Pas de deux (Cor. Rudolf Nureyev)

We want to welcome Valentina Cerni to the company!!!
Valentina started dancing at the age of 7 in a local dance school in Brescia, Italy, where she was born. At the age of 18 Valentina successfully auditioned for the National Dance Academy of Rome, where she studied Ballet, Contemporary, Choreographic Composition and Ballet Repertoire. Valentina graduated in July 2020 with full marks. Her performance experience includes productions for the Teatro Regio of Parma and Teatro M. Valli of Reggio Emilia and for the movie “Gli Immortali” directed by Anne-Riitta Ciccone. She was a finalist of Premio Roma Danza 2020, Premio Roma Danza 2022 and Premio Nazionale delle Arti 2020, organized by MIUR (Italy).
