THE LAFF HOUSE: A LEGACY BUILT ON LOVE
Throughout my life, I have met many people, experienced victories and faced difficult times. Along the way, I built a brand that became known around the world: The Laff House.

But I did not build it alone.
My wife, Mona Millwood, loved me unconditionally. When I had no money, she believed in me. When The Laff House was only a dream, she believed in that dream too.
I once asked her:
“Mona, if I lost everything, would you still stay with me?”
She answered:
“As long as we are together—even in a one-bedroom apartment—I’ll be happy.”
That was Mona.

I miss her more than words can express. Everything I continue to build is part of my promise to make her proud for believing in me when success was never guaranteed.
Together, Mona and I built The Laff House into a home for comedy on South Street in Philadelphia. We gave talented comedians—especially Black comedians—an opportunity to perform during prime-time hours, develop their voices and prepare for greater stages.

GOD, put challenges in OUR way, some people say that they are your friends, your helper. But you have that ONE PERSON no matter what people say they are there for you to help.

God lets us know Life is one big road, with lots of signs
