John and his buddies had a helluva day… set our sights initially on marlin, but with a little action in the far distance, we trolled on over and BAM! Port long rigger went off like a shotgun and the 80w was screaming. Fast forward 3 hours, we finally landed this BEAUTIFUL 172lb Allison yellowfin. Fished for a few more hours and filled the box before headed west. The monster fell to a Sterling Tackle wide tracker and Offshore Bait and Tackle AC supplied all of the fresh ballyhoo and squids to fill the box! Andrew had his sons out for a midshore jaunt, and while the albies had no issues biting a hook, the tuna just weren’t there that day.. C’est la vie. They were still an awesome crew who made the best of it before stopping at some little known wrecks to easily fill the box with Black Sea bass and ling.. and when i say these wrecks were stacked with quality sized Black Sea bass- it’s an understatement. Anthony and his family made it out for some summer doldrums wreck fishing. No shortage of bent rods! Still keeping with that 10:1 short to keeper ratio, but plenty of reeling to keep the mind occupied. Offshore Bait and Tackle AC hooked up the freshest baits that kept them chomping! A few days late with this one, but Kevin and his boys had a day.. with no love from the yellowfin where we were, we decided to switch over to meat fishing.. and meat is what they got. As if filling the box up with golden tiles and Rosie’s wasn’t enough, we tried a few of our top secret barrel haunts and didn’t bail 1 or 2, but 4 fat barrel fish. The guys even took turns trying their hand at sticking fish- and they’re all hired! Offshore Bait and Tackle AC has the goods to become a barrel champ like these guys! Shot out with Brayden and his crew in search of yellowfin.. a long morning and lack of life had us shift to Mahi where we quickly had our fill. With tuna still on the brain, we called an audible and ran for some bluefin. In short order, we put a 60lb bluefin in the box and Brayden’s first tuna. He’s hooked. Winds started to blow, so we ran in before the storms rolled through. Awesome job, guys!

Today’s trip came all the way from Buffalo in search of some tooners, and they found them! Went 2/3 on bluefin tuna amongst some bumpy conditions, but Christian and his son showed no mercy. Hopefully these fish stick around for a while! Offshore Bait and Tackle AC supplied the hoo’s and Dead Bait Solutions kept them tough, right up until they were inhaled and then professionally collared for freshness by Dr. Phil. Todd and his pop had a DAY. Yellowfin, juvenile bigeye, fat golden tiles.. what’s there to complain about? Offshore Bait and Tackle AC loaded us up with the shutes, ballyhoo and squid that made the bite irresistible all day! Dead Bait Solutions kept our hoo’s fresh and swinging true! Jersey is in full swing, baby!

Time flies! HUGE congrats to Nasty Nick, who graduated from the USCG academy as this nations newest Guardsman! Nick now formally joins the ranks for his brother Phil Jr (active USCG) and dad Phil Sr (ret Army). Our clients will still see plenty of Nick this season along with his brother Phil and another up and coming second mate (queue suspenseful future post music).
