A hi-fi sound gallery, an art space, and Atlanta's only cat therapy lounge. We lost our space in 2025. We left the building, we didn’t leave the dream!

We found a temporary home for us and the cats! They are safe. They are together. They are cared for. Listening Bar & Bio (Organic) Café (no cats in here!) You can enjoy your food, drinks and music without cats. So no excuses for all you with allergies :)

The Whisker Lounge (non-profit), the only cat and research lounge of its kind, combining art, sound, culture and cats to create what we call the CATxperience

- The Whisker Lounge will be home to our 22 resident cats as well as many adoptable cats from local non-profit rescue organizations and shelters
- Experience the benefits of Animal Therapy
- Healing arts: yoga, meditation, massages and sound healing
- Art classes: painting, pottery, jewelry and other crafts
- Events: movie, comedy, game, talk and poetry nights and more

Hello Atlanta, We’re still here. 🐾

A year ago, we were forced to close — no home, no plan. The updates slowed. The mission never did.

After all the struggle and uncertainty, we finally found our new home. 🏡 Not a new storefront — a real place where we and all our cats can live safely and comfortably while we work toward building our next permanent location.

Today, 28 lives are safe, together, and love, because of you. Every share, every donation, every message carried us here.
We’re still rebuilding, but no longer in crisis. And that changes everything.

🐈‍⬛✨ INTERNATIONAL CAT DAY • 8/8 • LIONS GATE ✨🦁

August 8 carries a beautiful coincidence for cat lovers.

International Cat Day was established in 2002 by the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) as a day to celebrate cats while bringing greater awareness to their welfare. In 2020, stewardship of the day passed to International Cat Care, continuing the focus on feline health and wellbeing.

And then there is 8/8 - the Lions Gate. 🦁♌️

In astrology and modern spiritual traditions, the period around August 8 is associated with the Lion’s Gate Portal, a symbolic time connected with the Sun in Leo, Sirius, and the number 8 - often interpreted as a moment of heightened energy, alignment, courage, abundance and transformation.

Whether you experience the Lion’s Gate spiritually, symbolically, astrologically - or simply enjoy the poetry of the coincidence - there is something wonderfully feline about August 8.

The Lion.
The cat.
The wild and the domestic.
The ancient and the present.
The creature we live beside… and the creature who still carries a little bit of the wild within them.

At The Frisky Whisker, we believe cats aren’t here simply to entertain us.

They invite us to slow down.
Observe.
Listen.
Respect boundaries.
Reconnect with instinct.
And remember that another species can have an entire inner world we don’t always see.

And remember the cats who still need a home, medical care, protection, understanding and someone willing to speak for them.
