“What if it’s easy?”
That question resonated during my conversation with Brooke Benson.
Not because the goal is always easy, but because so many of us create unnecessary friction before we’ve even begun.
Here are 5 ways to “make it easy”:
1️⃣ Recognize when your fixed mindset is creating the obstacle.
A fixed mindset doesn’t just tell us we can’t. It convinces us that everything worthwhile has to be difficult.
2️⃣ Stop proving yourself. Start practicing.
Not every attempt has to validate your talent. It can simply make you better.
3️⃣ Replace “I’m not good at this” with “I’m learning this.”
Your identity doesn’t have to be tied to your current ability.
4️⃣ Expect your first version to be bad.
Give yourself permission to make something mediocre. You can’t improve work that doesn’t exist.
5️⃣ Start with a different question.
Instead of “Why is this so hard?” try the lesson Brooke learned from her acting work and ask: “What if it’s easy?”
Not because the work disappears, but because your assumptions may be creating friction that doesn’t need to exist.
