Happy birthday to the woman Atlanta Mahjong Studio is dedicated to 🎂💖 My grandma, Luz!!

Mahjong is the reason I got to know my grandma as a *person* and not just the strict live-in piano teacher who screened calls from boys who called the house. It gave us a language we both spoke fluently. I still get teary eyed talking about her when people ask me why I built the studio. 🥹

Ang pamilya ay lahat. Mahal Kita, Grandma. I’m still playing, and now with new friends! And it’s always for you. 🀄🌸

Ready to learn Riichi Mahjong? 🀄

Riichi is the Japanese variant of mahjong — known for its strategic depth, satisfying winning patterns, and intense scoring system.

This beginner course takes you from the basics all the way to playing a full game. It runs 5 lessons over 5 Saturdays (10 hours total), taught entirely on automatic tables.

📅 Starting Saturday, April 18 | 6:30–8:30 PM
💴 $300 for the full course

You'll learn:
- How to play a complete game of Riichi
- Winning patterns (yaku) and how to spot them
- Scoring, simplified
- Proper table etiquette

The only prerequisite is knowing how to form 4 sets and a pair — if you can do that, you're ready!

Community Mahjong Night AKA Filipino Mahjong Night!!! 🇵🇭🀄

Tonight was my way of saying thank you to everyone who has supported the studio. We had prizes, special hands, and very special guests (say hai to my Mom and Dad 🙃).

To everyone who came out — thank you for supporting my dream. The atmosphere tonight is exactly why I wanted to create this space in the first place. I love you all so much!! 🥹

I’m sorry I didn’t take as many photos as I thought I did so next time I will definitely capture everybody!
