Concerts at First Oratorio, Organ, Opera, Piano, Brass, Jazz, & Much More! Concerts @ First concerts are primarily sustained by individual gifts.

For more than two decades, Concerts @ First (formerly Musica Sacra Atlanta) has made available to the Atlanta community the best classical sacred and secular music performed by artists from around the country and around the world. This year Concerts @ First celebrates a milestone in the Atlanta music community as we begin our 29th Anniversary Season! Since January 1989, this music concert series has established itself as one of the premier sacred music concert series in the southeastern United States. The concerts are presented in the venue of the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta, with its unparalleled acoustics, its 105 rank Moller/Zimmer organ, and its spectacularly beautiful Tiffany stained glass windows. Through prudent financial planning and the generous gifts of patrons, two funds have been established which sustain Concerts @ First. One is the general operation fund, which pays current expenses; and the second is an endowment, established to insure continued live performances in the sacred arts for future generations. One may designate contributions to either of these funds. Every dollar of an individual contribution goes directly to supporting the music of the concerts. Support is encouraged at the level of Fortississimo - $2,500+, Fortissimo - $1,000, Forte - $500, Mezzo Forte - $250, Mezzo Piano - $100, or Piano - $25. As we begin our 29th Anniversary Season, we are also encouraging giving opportunities to sponsor a full concert. Your gift or sponsorship will be acknowledged in each printed concert program. For inquiries on underwriting a concert, please contact Dr. Jens Korndoerfer, Director of Concerts @ First, at 404-228-7731 or www.jenskorndoerfer.com . We are looking forward to the exciting 29th Anniversary Season of Concerts @ First!

Photos from our first two concerts of the 2025-26 season, both part of the Bach’s Lunch series in collaboration with the Emory Chamber Music Society.

The first concert, which was on September 5th, featured Grammy-award winning cellist Zuill Bailey joined by violinist Helen Kim.

The second concert, which was on November 21, featured virtuoso harpist Elisabeth Remy joined by the flutist Christina Smith and the acclaimed Vega Quartet.

Our annual Christmas Concert will be THIS SUNDAY, December 7th at 10:00am, featuring the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta Choir and Orchestra in a performance of Saint-Saëns’ Christmas Oratorio.
