Our artistic director, founder, & lead choreographer is Shari "Mimi" Cheverez, who's dance training encompasses Classical, Hip Hop, Latin, Belly Dance, West African, and more. She created Sophistiqué to showcase her urban and Latin roots across musical genres and stages, and enjoys using dance to educate others and bring people together!

I'm in search of hungry, dedicated ladies who would like to train, perform, and slay the stage in my next Urban Bachata + Burlesque fusion piece!

MUST be able to dance in heels and MUST be at least an advanced intermediate level dancer in Latin dance AND/OR proficient in Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, etc and able to retain choreography well. Previous performance experience is NOT required.

Rehearsals will take place on Thursday nights, and performances will occur on weekend nights at local and regional events such as dance socials and festivals. 💰💰💰 PAID GIG opportunities are available to those who WERK for it. This routine is sexy, tasteful, and fierce.(Floor fees apply.) Let's take Latin Dance in ATL to the next level!!

I never really see myself social dancing, so when I saw someone recording I just had to grab the video! This dude is a super smooth, flavorful lead from NOLA who SHUT IT DOWN. I keep having these epic dances with folk from there - looks like I need to make my way out there!
