David will be running the game Monday night. For a change of pace we decided to play Texas Hold 'Em.

Next week's Omaha game was cancelled due to *&^*&^((^%% people voicing a lack of joy regarding Omaha. So we replaced Omaha with RAZZ.

Due to a complete lack of understanding on my part as to how to play RAZZ, RAZZ on the 24th is cancelled. But in a remarkable act to stubborn bullheadedness. we have decided that the game on the 24th will be 5-Card Draw. Read below for how we will play.

5 CARD DRAW
Antes are posted by the Big and Small blind.
Starting with the Small blind, everyone gets dealt 5 cards face down.
There is a round of betting starting with the first player past the Dealer Button.
Again, starting with the first player past the button, each player discards all the cards they want replaced. Each player is allowed to turn in up to 3 cards to be replaced by the dealer. When everyone has their hand of 5 cards, another round of better takes place to determine the hand's winner. Traditional rules say that you should be limited to no more than 3 cards being replaced unless you show an Ace which will allow you to get 4 cards. For our game we are allowing 4 cards to be replaced without showing any qualifying card.

That's it. Now you know how to play 5-Card Draw.

Monday will be our usual game. 5-Card Draw will be on the 24th.

Yes, the Poker Tournament Directors Association (TDA) includes rules for Razz, primarily by adapting Seven-Card Stud rules with specific lowball modifications.

Key TDA rules for Razz include:Best Hand: The lowest hand wins; Aces are low, and straights/flushes do not count against the hand value.Best Possible Hand: The best hand is A-2-3-4-5.Starting Action: On third street, the highest card by suit brings in (forces a bet). On all subsequent rounds, the lowest hand acts first.Showdown: At showdown, if cards are not spontaneously tabled, the lowest hand (best low) shows first.Odds Chips: Odd chips go to the high card by suit in the player's 5-card winning hand.

TDA rules generally dictate that in non-all-in showdowns, if there is no bet on the final street, the player who would be first to act in a betting round shows first (low hand in Razz).

It's going to be amazing. And popcorn will be available for folks who just want to watch.

Due to a complete hatred of Omaha, the Omaha game for 8/24 has been cancelled .

Replacing it will be a 7 card stud variant called RAZZ. How to play will be reviewed and shared as soon as I find 2 people who agree on the rules.

It's time for another of our special poker nights for Season 50!

OMAHA!

It's the one night this season we are doing OMAHA and you don't want to miss the fun of this great variant of our beloved Texas Hold 'Em. You get 4 hole cards every hand. You must use two cards from your hand and 3 from the board. Part of getting great at Hold 'Em is getting good at OMAHA. We'll throw in 500 bonus points for every player that joins us Monday.

Andre will be leading the festivities and running our new game like only he can!
