Y’all! It’s our last weekend in January already! I pray your all safe, healthy, & happy. To celebrate our weekend, here is another one of my eagle & rainbow obsessed photos. This is a family of eagles; mother, father, & eaglet! Yep, an EAGLET! 💖🤗

I’ve been waiting for the right time to share some of my recent eagle pictures. The photo quality isn’t my best but reflecting on the words of MLK has inspired me to post one along side a few of my favorite quotes. ❤️ ... “We’ve learned to fly the air like birds, and to swim the seas like fish, and yet we haven’t learned to walk the earth as brothers and sisters.”

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

- Martin Luther King, Jr.

No heavy words tonight. Relax a little. Breath deeply. Escape to a dreamy little garden. There are still safe & beautiful corners of the world devoid of madness.

🍁What’s your favorite shade of fall? Deep red-violet? Golden glowing yellow? Soft & warm orange? ... after much deliberation, I choose to love them all.

💕 Double Dose! Starting this week off in a positive head space. I remember shooting this at first light (before sunrise) in super cold temps. My best friend was with me exploring like a champ! What an adventure it was! 📸 Can’t wait for more fun post-covid! Y’all stay safe! 🙏

This 💎 of a State Park is hidden just 25 miles NE of Orlando, FL! Literally a blue lagoon, this natural spring is fed by the St. John’s River, glittering with cypress trees & romantic Spanish moss. The most AMAZING part are the enchanting wintering Manatees!!! I’ll never forget this gift of a sunset.

🖤 Channeling a little Ansel Adams... Do you know him? He was one of the greatest American photographers of all time. Born in 1902, he photographed American West Landscapes in black and white, famous for his extraordinary tonal range & sharp focus. He did this by manually layering multiple photos at different exposures. Mine is no comparison but I think of him when I try to make a b&w image.

ALL THE COLORS! The light that enters the canyon slots bends & refracts to produce vivid pallets. Mid-morning to early afternoon is your best time to see the colors at their best. This is Lower Antelope Canyon.

These shades of gray brought to you by hundreds of years of rain & Navajo sandstone. The Navajo call Antelope Canyon “the place where water runs through rocks.”

Dela Jean Photography because... Dyslexic Dreams Do Come Treu

I know, I know - it's spelled "True". That's just how we Dyslexics really type, and read, and speak. You may notice a slight ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) trait splattered in. At least now the expectation has been set, everyone knows that I'm obviously going to be amazing at writing; I wish!... but I promise to use spellcheck for my favorite "Type A" personalities.

Basically, this is where I pour my heart out about my passion - art. I've always been dyslexic, and have always struggled with communicating in the correct order, and right-side-up. In school, I was forced to have a slew of extra reading and writing classes - yay. Art found me because it doesn't care if you're backwards or forwards, plain or chevron pattern, black or white, or grey (because the two paints colors accidentally smudged together on your paintbrush). It doesn't matter! Every single error is okay - because it's art! It is freedom to be perfect within an imperfect world. I love that.

[Insert Paragraph Transition Word Here], I was in my first art show in the 1st Grade! Ya! It was called Kaleidoscope - do you remember that one? I do; just please don't ask me to spell it. My rainbow-colored tissue paper was glued so imperfectly on navy blue construction paper. Who knew!?! For the first time, I felt like I was a little champion of something. So, I stuck with it.
