Oof, I know that feeling. 😮‍💨 To try to capture a moment or essence, so that it will not be missed. 👀

🎨 Art has that magical quality of seeming to surpass normal boundaries and gives us a chance to express the universal — love, fear, fury, passion, grief, and healing.

After reading a biography of Kahlo recently, I became even more curious about her story. I hope to learn more through more reading and continue to be inspired by her honesty and bravery. 🇲🇽

⚔️ Sharp ⚔️ The first half was so easy to write, the second, not so much… Lol

In response to our May art prompt, “What are your thorns?” I’ve writtten this poem. 😃📝

Why is it so easy to be impatient, to be intolerant of one’s flaws ? Everything takes time. Why not be more lenient with the expectations for one’s self ?

Well, for one thing, it’s easy to be impatient. It’s easy to be angry. It’s a lot harder to take a breath and recognize those feelings, to renegotiate some space with them and figure out where they’re coming from.

But thank goodness we can. We can remember what’s important. We can remember our value. We can remember that no one and nothing can take that away.

It’s been 50 million years, but I finally got to paint something ! 🤪😅 …. Inspired by my friend’s photography and sharing the moment with my daughter, as she painted alongside me. 😃🎨
