PSA to everyone with grandkids:

You can not change your Facebook settings by posting a copy and paste Facebook status. This is spam, and may open you up to being targeted by identity hackers.

The only way to change Facebook settings are to click on the settings gear icon, and the settings are always very normal. Never something you need to panic about and adjust.

You can also not change your settings or the way Facebook behaves by reposting a post, sending a direct message, or leaving a comment. These are all spam too. Basically, a prank you fell for.

Additionally, doing the above will NOT result in extra donations to your favorite cause or candidate. (For example 1 repost = $1 donated is never ever real).

Please share this with anyone who needs to see it. Tell them I do social media marketing for a living if it helps my credibility. If you have any questions feel free to send me a direct message and I’ll be happy to help tell anyone if something looks fishy or not.

Finally, please enable 2 factor Authentication (2fa). This means every time you try to log in, it confirms with you by sending a text to your phone or an email to you. This will prevent someone from hacking into your Facebook even though it is a bit of a hassle.

So there’s this crazy phenomenon that happened pre social media where somehow all kids knew the words to certain joke songs. Apparently nobody knows how exactly these songs went viral other than kids telling kids from other schools and it sweeping the nation.
