One month ago, I officially started my medical transition. BTW, if you didn't know, I'm a trans man. I came out the first time when I was 16. I use he/him bro-nouns. Yada yada, life is a journey. Welcome to the present. will always be a big part of my road to self discovery as a young person and now. This was the day of my first T shot. We did it together and he made us fancy ice cream Sundays afterward. This felt like a right of passage (maybe pun intended). I feel like I'm finally taking big steps towards accepting and loving my true self. The world is in transition, not just me. That 17 year old me would be proud.
After my shot, thanks to my bro at the Trackside art market, I turned into Garuda. Now I'm truly outrageous.

I've been working on this queen size bed quilt top since last summer and it's finally finished. I auditioned it on my bed to make sure it fits and now I'm quilting it. This scale and piecing was a BIG step up for me. The side panels are 50-60's vintage feed sack cloth, the pieced stars are white linen and 2 blue woven cottons. The batting is wool and the backing is flannel. It's a wonderful variety of textures using my take on a fairly traditional pattern inspired by the sack cloth pattern and period.
