I was honored to have "A Feathered Repose" participate in this year's GLA Gala & Fine Art Auction and am so pleased to announce that this fancy rooster was purchased in the Gala at fair market value and is now in his new home.

I am so incredibly happy to announce that my painting “Rainy Day Rebel” was accepted into the International Association of Pastel Societies’ 49th Open Division Online Exhibition!
This piece is one of my favorites as it shows my oldest son’s love for creating which he still has all of these years later at 9. I have entered this piece into at least 3 other art calls and it was never the one chosen, so this is really special, and a good sign to keep trying when you feel strongly about a certain piece. A huge thank you to the jurors!
Both the IAPS Open Division and Master Division Exhibitions can be viewed from the IAPS website. Inclusion into this show gives me one more point towards IAPS Master Circle . I am now at 2 out of the 5 required!

I am so grateful to have my piece recognized with a special merit award in 2026 Artist's Choice competition. "I Know You Are Weary" will be included in the 2026 Early Spring issue.
Here is what Art&Color 365 says about the special merit award:
"Special Merit winners are the top tier in our competitions, and the three overall winners are chosen from this group. We evaluate every entry on four criteria: overall impression and impact; composition; technique and use of media; creativity/originality. A Special Merit award means your work demonstrates impressive technical skill, a composition that draws viewers in, a clear “wow” factor, and genuine originality."

Congratulations to all of the artists who also received awards and will be showcasing their work in the upcoming issue.

I am beyond thrilled to announce that "I'm a Wreck" was awarded first place in the emerging artist category for Dakota Pastel's 3rd quarter competition.
A hearty thank you to the amazingly talented Tara Will who was the juror for this quarter.

"The expression and feeling on that face is captured so beautifully. I love the way the background goes out of focus to really pull you into the expression on the face. The ex*****on of value, color, composition, and markmaking are all exceptional. Excellent work. Congratulations!"

I'm so excited to share that "Dove Field" has made it into the top finalists for the August Salon Art Prize. I was able to accomplish just the right coupling of painterly and realism with this piece and am very proud of it. Many thanks to the Salon Art Prize and juror Lance Rehs of Rehs Contemporary Galleries.

When we purchased our land we were told that it was once a dove field which hosted an annual hunt. After 8 years, this is the first year they have returned to their now sanctuary. I was lucky enough to capture a picture of this proud papa snuggling his fledgling as the sun dappled in through the tree top.

"Procession" received an Honorable Mention in the highly competitive Almenara Art Prize! I am so honored to have been selected for this distinction and so happy that I took the chance on myself and entered this year. Thank you and jurors!
