I don't usually like to share the steps along the way in competitions because I fear looking like a "failure" if I don't progress, but I'm deciding to allow myself these victories, because that's what it is- a victory. So, exciting news: Clothed in Light has been long listed in the 2026 Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize, 33PA Drawing Award! Wish me luck!

I sat in the dark and empty
Holding tightly to my youth
Praying for the light to find me
Wishing for a ray of truth
Feeling hopeless I bowed my head
I looked within
My worries shed
When I awakened
To my delight
The room was glowing

When we purchased our land we were told that it was once a dove field which hosted an annual hunt. After 8 years, this is the first year they have returned to their now sanctuary. I was lucky enough to capture a picture of this proud papa snuggling his fledgling as the sun dappled in through the tree top.

I'm pleased to announce that "The Deep End" was selected by juror Tanya Avchinnikova to participate in the Pastel Society of North Carolina's Pure Color 2026 online exhibition. She put together a beautiful show and I'm just so happy to be a part of it.
