Pepper Steak Stir-Fry: A Quick and Flavorful Classic!
This Pepper Steak Stir-Fry is a vibrant and satisfying dish packed with tender strips of beef, crisp bell peppers, and a savory sauce that’s sure to impress. Perfect for weeknight dinners, this recipe comes together in under 30 minutes!
✅ Ingredients:
For the Beef:
1 lb Beef Sirloin or Flank Steak, thinly sliced
1 tbsp Soy Sauce
1 tbsp Cornstarch
1 tsp Sesame Oil
For the Vegetables:
1 Red Bell Pepper, sliced
1 Green Bell Pepper, sliced
1 Yellow Bell Pepper, sliced (optional)
1 Small Onion, thinly sliced
2 Garlic Cloves, minced
1 tsp Ginger, minced
For the Sauce:
1/4 cup Soy Sauce
2 tbsp Oyster Sauce
1 tbsp Hoisin Sauce
1 tbsp Brown Sugar
1/4 cup Beef Broth or Water
1 tsp Cornstarch
Optional Garnish:
Sesame Seeds
Green Onions, sliced
✅ Instructions:
Step 1: Marinate the Beef
In a bowl, combine soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil.
Add the sliced beef, toss to coat, and let marinate for 15 minutes while preparing the other ingredients.
Step 2: Prepare the Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, and cornstarch. Set aside.
Step 3: Stir-Fry the Beef
Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.
Add the beef in a single layer and sear for 1–2 minutes per side until browned but not fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
Step 4: Cook the Vegetables
Add another tablespoon of oil to the skillet.
Stir-fry the bell peppers and onion for 3–4 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp.
Add garlic and ginger, cooking for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Step 5: Combine and Sauce
Return the beef to the skillet and pour in the sauce.
Stir everything together and cook for 2–3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and coat the beef and vegetables evenly.
Step 6: Serve
Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
