EVENT UPDATE

Due to the inclement weather, Salt & Spirits has been rescheduled to Saturday, November 7, from 6–8 PM at the Museum of Design Atlanta.

If you’ve already registered, your ticket will automatically carry over to the new date.

And if tonight’s date didn’t work for you, we hope November 7 does. We’d love to have you join us for an evening of wh***ey, design, and discovery inspired by MODA’s SALT: A Design Story exhibition.

This is more than a wh***ey tasting.

Your evening starts with a Salted Maple Old Fashioned and time to explore MODA’s SALT: A Design Story exhibition.

Then we’ll sit down for three curated wh***eys, each connected to a different story about design, process and place.

There’ll be food, conversation, a guided tasting, and after-hours access to the exhibition and Design Shop.

All in one evening at MODA.

Before you ever taste a wh***ey, you’ve already started forming an opinion about it.
The typography. The wax. The shape of the bottle.

None of those choices are accidental.

That’s part of what got me thinking differently about wh***ey when I started working with the Museum of Design Atlanta on Salt & Spirits, a wh***ey tasting experience and fundraiser inspired by their SALT: A Design Story exhibition.

On October 10, we’ll explore wh***ey through three lenses: design, process, and place.

I’m keeping the tasting lineup under wraps for now. Some things are better discovered at the table.

On October 10, I’m teaming up with Museum Of Design Atlanta (Museum of Design Atlanta) for Salt & Spirits, a fundraising wh***ey tasting inspired by their current exhibition, SALT: A Design Story.

We’ll explore three wh***eys through the lenses of process, design, and place, looking at the stories, choices, and connections that shape what eventually ends up in the glass.

All tickets include a welcome cocktail, three curated pours, snacks, and after-hours access to MODA.

The Dragonfly Speakeasy 🤫

A one-night-only wh***ey experience created for a very special 50th birthday celebration.

For this birthday surprise we created a hidden bar space, complete with a custom wh***ey experience built specifically for the guest of honor.

Guests slipped away from the party in small groups, discovering four American wh***eys, swapping stories, and enjoyjng a few surprises along the way.

A little wh***ey. Lots of good company. And a night worth remembering.

This is what I love about Dad’s Wh***ey Stash. Taking an idea and turning it into something people will remember.

Some are about the people around the table.

Sam’s birthday celebration was definitely both. Great bourbon, a few surprises, plenty of stories, and a group of friends who made it pretty clear how much he means to them.
Grateful to have been part of it.

WHAT’S YOUR WH***EY SIGN? 🥃

Wh***ey Sour

- 2 oz bourbon
- ¾ oz fresh lemon juice
- ¾ oz simple syrup

Shake with ice. Strain over fresh ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with a lemon peel or cherry.

Old Fashioned

- 2 oz bourbon or rye
- ¼ oz simple syrup
- 2–3 dashes Angostura bitters

Stir with ice. Strain over one large cube in a rocks glass. Express an orange peel over the drink and drop it in.

Wh***ey Smash

- 2 oz bourbon
- ¾ oz fresh lemon juice
- ¾ oz simple syrup
- 6–8 mint leaves

Gently muddle mint with syrup and lemon. Add bourbon and ice. Shake well and strain over crushed ice. Garnish with mint.

Irish Coffee

- 1½ oz Irish wh***ey
- 4 oz hot coffee
- ½–¾ oz simple syrup
- Lightly whipped heavy cream

Add wh***ey, coffee, and syrup to a warm glass. Stir. Float lightly whipped cream on top.

Manhattan

- 2 oz rye wh***ey
- 1 oz sweet vermouth
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters

Stir with ice and strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a cherry.

Wh***ey, Neat

- 2 oz wh***ey

Pour neat into a Glencairn or rocks glass. No ice. No garnish.

Scotch & Soda

- 2 oz Scotch
- 2–3 oz chilled soda water

Pour Scotch over ice in a highball glass. Top with soda water. Give it one gentle stir.

Sazerac

- 2 oz rye wh***ey
- 1 sugar cube or ¼ oz simple syrup
- 3 dashes Peychaud’s bitters
- Absinthe

Rinse a chilled rocks glass with absinthe and discard the excess. Stir rye, sugar, and bitters with ice. Strain into the glass. Express a lemon peel over the top and discard or garnish.

Kentucky Mule

- 2 oz bourbon
- ½ oz fresh lime juice
- 4 oz ginger b**r

Add bourbon and lime to a copper mug or rocks glass filled with ice. Top with ginger b**r. Stir gently. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Boulevardier

- 1½ oz bourbon or rye
- 1 oz Campari
- 1 oz sw
