Greetings funseekers!!

The SJO is riding out the Covid19 crisis by taking five (months or so....give or take) until the all-clears have been given to allow gatherings for dances, stage shows or even our constant of Monday evening rehearsals that the players look forward to each week....since 1974.

We're all hanging around waiting for the opportunity to blow to the crowds or fine tune some of our charts to stay in the pocket. While at the same time being able to enjoy the camaraderie and humor that is part of the glue that holds 20 musicians together....even when we're apart.

Just hang tight. We're ready to swing sooner than later and you'll all be invited when that return to life first gig comes about!

In the meantime....Wash those hands and "Let's be careful out there." This too shall pass.

An impromtu recording of the SJO for a sound check one late December 10 years ago. Rick Bell (the SJO music/rehearsal director for much of the SJO's life) is the tenor sax solo.

A Tascam pocket recorder was put out at Woodward Academy by Butch Bourg...one of the SJO founders... while we were checking acoustics for an upcoming recording.…

We had a wonderful time playing the Holy Cross Catholic Church/Parish for a Big Band Dance with an outstandingly good crowd that braved the rainy weather to help us celebrate a return to this wonderful dance hall.

Thank you to Ruah/Lisa for promoting our event to the ballroom dance gatherings that she's affiliated with in the region.

Special thanks to the Knights of Columbus at Holy Cross for arranging and coordinating a successful fund raising event for their church! We're eager to make a return visit as a regular event!
