Yehimi Cambrón is a DACAmented artist and educator born in Mexico and raised in Atlanta. In 2014, she graduated from Agnes Scott college with a B.A. in Studio Art. Cambrón’s
artwork focuses on celebrating the humanity and resiliency of immigrants. In 2017, she painted a mural of her Education is Liberation Monarch as part of The BuHi Walk—a public art conference on Buford Hwy co-hosted by Living Walls, The City Speaks and We Love BuHi. Since then, she has used her mural to engage the community and advocate for protection for dreamers. She was recently commissioned to create a series of portraits for the 4th edition of the Green Card Voices book, Atlanta edition. The book highlights the immigration stories of students at her alma mater (Cross Keys HS) where she is currently an art teacher.

NANA Artistic Director Bella Dorado will be receiving Atlanta’s Emerging Artist Award for 2018 this Thursday at the Chastain Arts Center. She is premiering her latest dance film FAEST. Come celebrate with us!
