IMPORTANT UPDATE: FALL FESTIVAL ON PONCE – SUNDAY CANCELLED
Unfortunately, after personally inspecting the park this morning, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Sunday's Fall Festival on Ponce due to extremely saturated ground conditions.
While several other events across Atlanta had already announced cancellations, we remained hopeful that we could salvage at least one day of our festival. Our staff had prepared the park for Sunday's load-in, and we wanted to give the event every possible opportunity to move forward.
Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans.
The entire park is simply too wet. The lawns are saturated, muddy, and unsafe for artists, visitors, and equipment. With cooler temperatures today and tomorrow, there is simply not enough time for the ground to dry out.
Beyond safety, we also have a responsibility to be good stewards of this beautiful, historic park.
The Olmsted Linear Parks are a treasured part of Atlanta's history, and protecting these green spaces is something we take seriously. Moving forward with thousands of visitors, tents, and equipment on saturated lawns would risk significant damage to the very park that makes this festival so special.
Sometimes being a good steward means making the difficult decision not to use the park at all.
We know how much our artists, neighbors, and visitors look forward to this weekend. Believe us, nobody is more disappointed than our team, which has spent months preparing for this event.
We sincerely appreciate everyone's patience, support, and understanding. We look forward to returning under much better conditions.
