We are so excited for our upcoming shows!!! We have a fantastic lineup of Atlanta artists (including writers, musicians, poets, storytellers!) presenting original work inspired by the novel "On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous" by Ocean Vuong.

There are two opportunities to see the show…

First at Buteco in Grant Park on Saturday, June 27th, at 1pm, and again at Manuel's Tavern on Tuesday, June 30th at 6:30pm.

We are so delighted that Bobbi Twiggs will be joining Atlanta Bushwick Bookclub for the first time for our events on artistic inspirations from “On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous” by Ocean Vuong.

Bobbi Twiggs is a three time award nominated playwright, theatre artist, and a proud Write Club Atlanta champion. Their first full length play, The Pros and Cons of Killing Your Cult Leader, had its world premiere in 2023 with two sold out runs at the Aurora Theatre and Shakespeare Tavern, and has since been performed at Barking Legs Theatre and The Chattanooga Theatre Centre in Tennessee, and at Grove 34 Comedy Club in New York City. You can see their newest play Hannah & Greta, or The Cost of Livin' The Dream this August as a part of Play Haven's development reading series.

We are so delighted that Rupert Fike will be joining Atlanta Bushwick Bookclub for the first time for our events on artistic inspirations from “On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous” by Ocean Vuong.

Rupert is a performance poet from Clarkston, GA. His second collection of poems, Hello the House” was named as a “Book All Georgians Should Read” in 2018 by the Georgia Center for the Book. “Among The Furies” will be published later this year by Clemson University Press.

We are so delighted that Kamaria Korta will be joining Atlanta Bushwick Bookclub for the first time for our events on artistic inspirations from “On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous” by Ocean Vuong.

Kamaria is an educator, storyteller, and aspiring Jedi. An Atlanta-based Moth StorySLAM winner and member of The Atlanta Storytellers, she weaves her whimsical joy of all things Sci Fi and glittery into stories that remind us we're more alike than we think. When she's not teaching, writing, or performing, Kamaria enjoys spoiling her two Sphynx cats, Mooskie LaTavious and Yoda.

We are so delighted that Billie Sainwood will be joining Atlanta Bushwick Bookclub for the first time for our events on artistic inspirations from “On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous” by Ocean Vuong.

Billie is a poet, performer, and trans menace living in Atlanta. Her work has been featured in the Atlanta Fringe Festival and she was recently one of Bloodletter Magazine's 2025 Trans Voices in Horror. Her poetry collections WHAT WAS EATEN WAS GIVEN and 36 VIEWS OF MY BREASTS are available from Kith Books.

We are delighted to welcome Emily Backus back to Atlanta Bushwick Bookclub for our events featuring artistic inspirations from “On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous” by Ocean Vuong.

When not collaborating with tiny musicians in her work as an elementary school teacher, Emily Backus fronts the band Mom Friend, whose new album I’m Pretty Happy, Except When I’m Not, “pulls no punches, narrating life with honesty and sharp wit” (No Earplugs). Past Atlanta Bushwick Bookclub shows include The Va**na Monologues, Frankenstein, and One Hundred Years of Solitude.

We are so delighted to welcome Kristina Jones back to Atlanta Bushwick Bookckub for our inspirations from Ocean Vuong’s novel “On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous”.

Hailing from Decatur, GA, Kristina has always been an avid lover of all things music and creative. She began singing in the fifth grade and ever since, has taken the opportunity to share her stories with the world the best way she knew how: through song. Writing from the soul, her songs fill a room the way a late-night confession does: honest, unfiltered, and impossible to ignore. Bringing raw intimacy to every space she enters, Kristina turns every song into a moment of connection that lingers.

We are delighted to have Grace Lloyd Kujan join us again for our upcoming shows on inspirations from “On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous” by Ocean Vuong! Grace was born and raised in Connecticut and graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2012. She has lived in the Atlanta area for the past eight years with her husband and daughter. A graphic designer by day, writing is her most coveted creative outlet, and while she has published a couple of poems over the years, she is currently working towards becoming a published novelist.

Ramsay graduated from Temple University 32 years ago where she was awarded an Academy of American Poets prize. She has been writing quietly most of her life.
