Some voices don’t just speak, they perform with all the feelings! They make YOU feel something. We’re bringing Theresa tha S.O.N.G.B.I.R.D. to the Poetic Jazz stage for our D’Angelo Tribute.

A poet. A vocalist. A storyteller. A force.

Theresa’s words have traveled far beyond Atlanta, from her viral piece “You So Black” to stages alongside some of the most respected voices in music and poetry. Now, she’s stepping into the Poetic Jazz experience to help us honor the music, spirit, vulnerability, and soul of D’Angelo.

No stranger to Poetic Jazz, Justin Ruff is back bringing that smooth blend of jazz, R&B, and soul that always feels right at home in our space.

A formally trained jazz vocalist rooted in soul, Justin has shared stages with artists like Ginuwine, Teedra Moses, and Queen Naija, while building a sound that’s warm, intimate, and deeply musical.

And if you know Justin, you know the experience doesn’t stop at sound. He’s also the founder of Justin Ruff Candles | Scent & Sound, an artist-led home fragrance brand built around his belief that scent and sound can shift a space. Every candle is paired with original music, creating a whole mood from the music to the room around it.

Now he’s bringing that energy to our D’Angelo Tribute.

What’s y’all favorite D’Angelo song?

Honestly, that whole first album? No skips.

But we really want to know what y’all want to hear at this tribute. Not just from the band, what song do you hope makes the setlist? What D’Angelo record takes you back every time?

Tell us in the comments.
