Is this air barrier supposed to be here? I’m renovating the inside of this tiny house and it has an air barrier behind the studs and then a V***r barrier on the other side of the plywood below the siding. That’s not supposed to be there right? I’ve never seen a barrier between the studs and plywood before. Should I remove it? It is ripped in some places and as you can see has nails poking through it.

This is my only window. This is as far as it opens. My apartment has no AC. What can I do?

Gap at Ledger. DIYer here. Replacing the deckboards. I have this space at the ledger board. I dont mind the aesthetic of the gap but wanted to check if there is other concerns I should have. The ledger board has joist tape on it so i dont think rot would be a big issue. And there are already spacers between ledger and house so it really gives me good access to sweep dirt and debris down. I thought of taking out the last board and then rip two boards that split the distance. However im out like 1/4" from square so ripping at 90 on table saw wouldn't allow both boards to fit without an awkard gap as you run down the house. For context the gap is 1.75 inches at its widest. Dont worry ill fill in the gap to the left of the gutter, just haven't got that far yet. Id welcome any ideas, thanks.

Notch around picture frame. First time installing Trex composite and could use advice. The next board here would hit the end of the picture frame around the top of the steps.
Do I notch it? It would be 4’ wide and need 3” notched into the 5.5” board.
Or do I split it into three separate pieces? The whole board is 18’ across the whole deck.
I have limited tools, no track saw. I have a handheld circular saw, jigsaw, and 10” miter saw.

How would you all go about fixing this trim issue? I’m looking at it and trying to figure out the best way to repair it ...

Need help considering spray foam or normal insulation to finish attic space. I have a big attic space i want to insulated and finish. I do not know if spray foam is necessary or if normal insulation would be fine. The space left and right of the walls are where the "crawlspace" of the attic is and has blown in insulation for the house and the hvac unit. I am in charlotte nc and dont know if the humidity is too high for spray foam or if both options are ok.

It gets very hot in the attic, I am adding AC vents to keep the area conditioned as well.

What insulation to cool down garage? Hey everyone. Our garage gets balls hot and I was thinking of putting insulation up to cool it down since I’m trying to start working out more. The joists are 2x6 24” on center. My question is if I put up just insulation, will that be enough? Or do I need to go all in and drywall it too?

What do you guys think of my DiY foam insulation work? Previous person who owned the house put nails through the concrete and they rusted out, basement flooded a bit. So pulled everything out and redoing the wall.
