Synchronicity Theatre is a professional nonprofit theatre company in Midtown Atlanta that produces smart, gutsy, and bold theatre to spark community connections and uplift the voices of women and girls. Founded in 1997 by four women with a desire to work collaboratively and bring challenging, meaningful theatre to Atlanta audiences, Synchronicity is a proud member of the National New Play Network (NNPN) and Theatre Communications Group (TCG). We believe in the power of bond between artist and audience, and our intimate stage brings us together to experience stories, music and drama as a community. Our seasonal programming includes 3 plays in our Bold Voices series for adults, 2 plays for children and families, our award-winning Playmaking for Girls program and more! Smart artists. Bold ideas. A little nerve. And a production with plenty of guts.

We're kicking off our Stripped Bare season with Crossroads & Cyphers, and we couldn't ask for better company to get things started.

Walk-ups are welcome, but trust us, this is a room you'll want to make sure you're in. Reserve your seat ahead of time. And if you haven't treated yourself to one of our comfy Swanky Lounge Seats yet, tonight's a fine night to do it. Worth every bit.

Every sound comes from somewhere.

Crossroads & Cyphers traces the lineage of Black musical expression—from African work songs and Southern blues to rap, freestyle, and contemporary hip-hop.

Through live music, storytelling, spoken word, and freestyle, Atlanta artists Alex Acosta and ANON The Griot bring that history into the present, exploring the ways Black music has carried memory, resistance, healing, and community across generations.

This October, we’re bringing Crossroads & Cyphers into The Annex—and opening a new Stripped Bare season shaped by perspective. Each work brings its own: way of working , asking a new question, or shifting how we see what’s already in front of us. Crossroads & Cyphers starts by asking us to listen again—to the music we know and the history it carries.
